La organización como un espacio de manifestación cultural: El Artesano, un estudio de caso en México

This research is the case study of a small organization in the Iztapalapa Delegation. It aims at discerning the influence of culture upon the management style, following Hofstede¿s (1980) theoretical foundations about national culture and the four cultural dimensions, and at rethinking the organization as a space of cultural manifestation, where individuals attain organizational identity that adds up to their social identity. By means of the case study, a methodology useful in the empirical research of contemporary phenomena (Yin, 1994), this investigation focuses on the comprehension of a concrete social fact, that of El Artesano, which reveals how the cultural manifestations of the members of an organization present themselves, andand how the culture influences the management style.
