Because the effects caused by different forms of precipitation, a product of environmental degradation and the continued acidification of soil erosion caused mainly low fertility in soils without tree cover, this work was performed in order to estimate the retention water by the trees and the potential for water infiltration into a Pinus cembroides subsp. orizabensis D.K. Bailey set to "Los Molinos" municipality of Perote, Veracruz, Mexico, with a density of 3 x 3 m in an area of 2 945 m2, this plantation was calculated the amount of water retained product of the annual precipitation using a colloidal first solid-liquid retention was calculated sample volume of a tree according to the diameters and heights of the sampled trees planting.
