Below we propose a proposal for functional recovery which is applied to professional sportsmen and women in their process of recovery from ruptured anterior cruciate ligament. It will focus on the role of the personal trainer working with a multidisciplinary team. The process of recovery has been divided into four phases and each phase is subdivided into different levels or stages. (I. medical treatment, II. Rehabilitation + functional recovery, III. Functional recovery. IV, Back to team work). We will use different activities and tasks which will enable the athlete to recover his/her physical condition as well as control the evolution of the injury and improve his/her performance so as to rejoin the group training sessions effectively and be able to compete professionally again. By doing this, we have therefore achieved a systematic protocol for functional recovery from ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.
