Identidades docentes del nivel preescolar, género y formación docente inicial

The principal goal of this document is to show some of identity characteristics of the five preschool teachers’. Five kindergarten teachers described their first educational contact with teaching, their professional life, and in their voices they narrated their initial educational process. Some findings that were derived from this research were the discovery of a big amount of stereotypes, beliefs, myths, and prejudices originated in measure by the closeness that exists bet - ween the educational and gender identity. This relationship greatly determined the decisions they made, as choosing their profession, in which they tried to respond to a socially accepted classification because of the distribution of sex/ gender of the job itself. In the narrative biographies the initial teacher training was referenced as important, by the imprint that this training experience left in the structure of the informant’s identity.
