en: Previous studies have demonstrated an increased impact on Health-Care Professional´s Health Related Quality of Life (HRQoL), as they are exposed to specific work-related stressors and risk factors. This study reports on Perceived Stress, Psychosocial Risk, and HRQoL of Uruguayan Private Health-Care nurses, kinesiologists and physicians. We collected data from a sample of 56 Uruguayan Health-Care Professionals. Measures: PSS, MOS-SF-12v2, ISTAS. Preliminary analyses have been conducted: frequencies, descriptives, mean differences, correlations for scale items. Analysis showed important occupation, and profession-based differences in HRQoL. Results have implications for group-based tailored psychoeducational programs that specifically target this population´s mental health and psychosocial needs. Health-Care Professionals have been scarcely addressed by the national and regional literature.>>>

en: We evaluated if training with a real-time strategy game could improve decision-making (DM) in adolescents of both sexes aged 15 to 18 years-old from Córdoba (Argentina). An experimental design was used with pre- and post-test. The experimental group spent 7 40-minutes training sessions with the game Dark Reign (independent variable). Because data was not normally distributed, nonparametric statistical tests were used. To measure DM several tests were used. First of all, analysis of global performance in the Iowa Gambling Task revealed only a main effect of treatment. On the other hand, men in the experimental group performance, by blocks, improved their score on blocks 3 and 4. No differences were found in performance of Cognitive Bias Task and Game of Dice Task. Experimental group IGT global net score improvement, accompanied by improvements found in IGT block score for male experimental group, suggest that treatment had an effect on the ability to make advantageous decisions, highlighting the long term rather than the immediate rewards in this group profit.>>>

en: The aim of this paper is to describe a case study of a 9 years old child diagnosed with Oppositional Defiant Disorder. en: School readiness (SR) refers to the group of skills and competencies required for children to succeed in school. The problem that guides this investigation refers to the absence of consensus in the assessment of the construct. A systematic review of scientific literature is presented, produced by the search of the words school readiness on the database PsycINFO, taking into account the last 20 years of research, longitudinal studies, with samples aged between 2 and 12 years old. A total of twenty papers were reviewed. The main instruments used to assess SR were the Woodcock-Johnson Battery, the Bracken Basic Concept Scale and the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test. Most of the conceptualizations of SR and academic success were based on only one indicator. We conclude that it is important to create and validate measurement instruments that are based on a multidimensional understanding of SR that includes cognitive and social-emotional abilities, as well as the educational and family settings.>>>

en: The current study is set out to build a scale of beliefs about the causes of road accidents starting from two questions: first, to account for the major attributions on the causes of road accidents; and the second from the human factor, expanding and specifying the actors, to arrive at the psychosocial factor (Petit, 2015). The initial 28-item bank, built and reviewed using specific criteria, was administered to a sample of 1052 subjects. Analyses made, concluded with the selection of 8 items with an internal structure of two factors. The resulting factors, psychosocial factor and uncontrolled factor, have good internal consistency (0.81 and 0.80). The Scale of Beliefs on the Causes of Road Accidents (ECCSV-RA1A) is an empirical, valid and reliable tool that would help to identify the reasons for traffic crashes on actors, their interactions and their respective beliefs.>>>
en: Study aim is analyzing psychometric properties of an instrument, Creative Actions Questionnaire (CAC), built to evaluate creative actions in different contexts and areas. The CAC has been prepared considering current theoretical perspectives about everyday creativity and instruments validated in previous studies. Two areas, everyday creativity and social participation, which are innovative with respect to existing questionnaires, were added. Three Stages of the study are presented in the article: building the instrument, pilot study and psychometric analyzes of final version. In addition to CAC, Test CREA (Corbalán et al., 2003), Biography of Creative Behavior Inventory (Batey, 2007) and a general questionnaire were administered. Nine hundred and four adults of Cordoba (Argentina) conformed sample. The results show that structure of the instrument fits with theories of reference. Studies have demonstrated adequate reliability and high correlations between CAC and Biographical Creative Behavior Inventory. Significant differences in the CAC were observed between two contrast groups: participant in leisure activities and not participants. Differences in measurements were observed according to sex, age and education level. The authors emphasize instrument importance in research, evaluation and promotion of everyday creativity.>>>
