en: This article is a fictional dialogue about love between Fragmentos de un discurso amoroso (1977) and La cámara lúcida (1980) by Roland Barthes, on the one hand, and The Ballad of Sexual Dependency (1986) - in its printed version – by Nan Goldin . The objective is to foreground parallels and contrasts in their ways of representing love, while linking these to the author’s intellectual and artistic practices. Both authors wrote these works at the end of the 1970s and during the 1980s. This period i s marked by a crisis in moral and religious values, the gay movement and the AIDS epidemic. The authors not only address these themes with the purpose of understanding them. They also conceive of them as experiences that cannot be reduced to any one theory , are expressed in fragmentary form, in the first person, are reflected in concrete narratives and imaginaries, and make manifest the tensions between what ‘the word’ can express and the ways that photography exhibits the limits of language. Lacanian psych oanalysis serves as the theoretical link between this optic unconscious and the Real or between the discourse of love and the inexpressible.>>>

en: This paper studies the complexity of the concept of innovation in the Chilean context of Science and Technology. The concept is confronted from the speeches and representations on innovation arising from the biographies of the Chilean doctoral students in natural sciences and engineering. Analytically, the article focuses on a qualitative methodology, using the biographical method as a source of data and processes of individuation and epistemological framework for the analysis of the s tories. The results are represented in four strains.>>>

en: By reading or listening to the work Nicolas Guillén musical rhythm of his poetry is perceived. In this paper I analyze the three poetic arts of his poems from adolescence to maturity. In all of them the poet says that music is a better vehicle than words to express his concerns. Guillén identifies poetry with a guitar, appeals to her to deliver his message and seek solutions to the problems observed. With the advance of time, the poetry of the author evolves expanding themes and territories, and his message b ecomes more explicit.>>>

en: This text presents a confrontation of life circuits and d ecisions for two of the most important Peruvian artists actives in Chile during XIX century; the painter José Gil de Castro and the musician José Bernardo Alzedo. This revision is framed on the inherently interdisciplinay studies of artists and the circula tion of their works during the Suthamerican independencies period and the following time, and in the interest for understand the great legacy of the Afro - descendant artists in our countries, which strategies of validation and social prestige were strongly marked by their ethnic origin. Similarities and differences are analyzed on their education, their paths linked to Chile, their relationship with their artistic guilds, and in the recycling of materials to transform the meaning of their own works in a cont ext of hard political changes. This text wonders how were guided their decisions by the circumstances; such as the need, as mulato artists, of emigrating from Peru, to reach a position in Chile as leaders of their guilds, and to get back latter, after seve ral attempts, to their country.>>>

en: Abstract: This paper cr itically reconstructs the reception of G. Camguilhem’s thought by the Argentinean epistemologist J. Samaja. Our hypothesis is that Samaja receives Canguilhem’s «health» concept from the perspective that he is trying to dismantle: the biologicist positivism as producer of a law that serves as a criterion of demarcation in the biomedical sciences between health and disease. While the French conceived «health» as the maintenance of a living man within a dynamic standard created by itself, the Argentinean claim s that health can not depend on a rule with a biologicist origin: health standards, in itself human — cultural — , do not respond to biological criteria for listing. This separation between cultura and natura assumed by Samaja keeps him within the schema of p ositivism, as well as of a western, Aristotelian, Hegelian, etc. ones, which rejects the vital roots of human cultural existence, and therefore within the rules that define the health of the living man.>>>
