		<p>The guidelines and regulations for the use of equipment in clinical practice are designed on the basis of scientific judgment supported by strong evidence. Different regulatory standards and clinical practice guidelines recommend the concurrent use of monitoring of neuromuscular blockade (MNMB) from induction to education of anesthesia when using neuromuscular blockers. It is quite concerning that the findings of numerous reports show that only a limited number of anesthetists systematically perform MNMB. Notwithstanding the availability of friendly modules, many of us do not use this approach, maybe due to lack of training or simply because we are not convinced of the benefits MNMB contributes.<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B1"><sup>1</sup></xref>
		</p>
		<p>The design of new MNMB devices for mobile phones may facilitate access to the technology, reduce costs, and turn MNMB into a routine procedure under various scenarios, with a positive impact on the rigorous compliance of the minimum safety standards.<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B2"><sup>2</sup></xref>
		</p>
		<p>We hereby submit to the Colombian Journal of Anesthesiology, our project entitled: &quot;Pre-and post-operative monitoring of neuromuscular block within the anesthesiologist's reach: is it possible?&quot; The project involves the development of an app for intelligent personal devices and a MNMB prototype using low cost, friendly, and portable acceleromyography as a solution to this delicate issue. With this project, we expect to reduce the morbid events associated with pharyngeal obstruction, hypoxemia, and acute respiratory failure.<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B3"><sup>3</sup></xref> The formalities for patent registration and agreements for biomedical manufactured components and software are currently underway.</p>
		<p>We believe that this paper is in line with the objectives of the journal, has not been disclosed through any other media and has no conflict of interests. We kindly request the Editor to summit our proposal to the scientific community and expect their feedback, contributions, questions, recommendations, and assistance to materialize this initiative that we consider so pressing.</p>

			<p>Las directrices y regulaciones de equipos para su uso en la práctica clínica se establecen en base a un juicio científico soportado por evidencia suficiente. Diversas normas regulatorias y guías de práctica clínica recomiendan el uso concomitante de monitorización del bloqueo neuromuscular (MBNM) desde la inducción hasta la educción anestésica cuando se utilizan BNM. Preocupan los hallazgos de numerosos reportes que demuestran que solo un porcentaje reducido de anestesiólogos efectúa MBNM sistemáticamente. Aun disponiendo de módulos amigables, muchos no la utilizamos, quizás por falta de entrenamiento o simplemente porque no estamos convencidos de los beneficios que aporta.<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B1"><sup>1</sup></xref>
			</p>
			<p>Diseñar nuevos dispositivos de MBNM para teléfonos móviles podría facilitar el acceso a esta tecnología, disminuiría costos y convertiría en rutina la MBNM en diferentes escenarios, impactando así en el cumplimento estricto de las normas mínimas de seguridad.<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B2"><sup>2</sup></xref>
			</p>
			<p>Presentamos a la Revista Colombiana de Anestesiología nuestro proyecto titulado <bold>&quot;Monitoria del Bloqueo Neuromuscular pre y post-operatorio al Alcance de los Anestesiólogos: ¿Es Posible?&quot;</bold>, en el que se está desarrollando una aplicación para dispositivos personales inteligentes y un prototipo de MBNM por aceleromiografía de bajo costo, amigable y portátil como solución a este delicado problema. Esperamos con este proyecto reducir eventos mórbidos relacionados como la disfunción faríngea, la alteración de músculos respiratorios superiores, obstrucción de vía aérea, hipoxemia y falla respiratoria aguda.<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B3"><sup>3</sup></xref> Las patentes relacionadas y convenios para componentes de manufactura biomédica y de software se encuentran en curso.</p>
			<p>Creemos que este trabajo armoniza con los objetivos de la revista, no ha sido informado en otro medio y no presenta conflictos de interés. Solicitamos respetuosamente Sr. Editor, considere poner en conocimiento nuestra propuesta a la comunidad científica para que comuniquen sus aportes, dudas, recomendaciones y ayudas, consolidando esta iniciativa que consideramos urgente.</p>
