			<title>INTRODUCCIÓN</title>
			<p>Los modelos teóricos han contribuído como referenciales para estructurar el cuidado, adaptados a las necesidades/especificidades de las personas en los diversos contextos sociales y ambientales. Los referenciales teórico-metodológicos ofrecen subsidios para la construcción del saber y de la práctica profesional, pues auxilian en el desarrollo de la tríade, teoría, investigación y práctica, presentando la complejidad y multiplicidad de los fenómenos presentes en el campo de la salud, con el objetivo de describir, explicar, prever o prescribir comportamientos humanos<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B1">1</xref>.</p>
			<p>Este estudio presenta como foco la Theory of Reasoned Action - Teoría de la Acción Racional (TAR), originaria de la psicología social y presentada en 1975 por Ajzen y Fishbein, profesores e investigaciones americanos. Este modelo teórico se fundamenta en el ser humano siendo especie racional, que usa de modo sistemático, implícito o explícito las informaciones disponibles, sean completas, verídicas o no, para formar la intención comportamental. De ese modo, el comportamiento humano está sobre control personal y, por lo tanto, el individuo podría mudar su conducta razonando sobre lo que lo lleva a actuar de determinada forma<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B2">2</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B3">3</xref>. </p>
			<p>La TAR ha sido aplicada para predecir el comportamiento del individuo frente a determinada situación, así como identificar los factores que lo determinan. La intención comportamental del individuo es función de dos determinantes básicas: uno de naturaleza personal (actitud) y otro de influencia social (norma subjetiva). El modelo TAR utiliza cinco constructos en la predicción del comportamiento: las creencias comportamentales, la actitud, las creencias normativas, la norma subjetiva y la intención comportamental<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B2">2</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B3">3</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B4">4</xref>. </p>
			<p>La actitud es una función de aquello que el individuo cree que irá a acontecer al desempeñar el comportamiento (creencias comportamentales) y de las evaluaciones positivas o negativas que él hace con respecto a las consecuencias de la ejecución de ese comportamiento. La norma subjetiva corresponde a la percepción que el individuo posee mediante presiones sociales sobre él para realizar o no determinado comportamiento (creencias normativas), así como la motivación para corresponder a tales presiones<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B2">2</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B5">5</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B4">4</xref>. Ya las intenciones comportamentales son predictores directos de la realización de un comportamiento<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B4">4</xref>. </p>
			<p>Siendo la TAR un referencial teórico cuyo foco es entender y predecir el comportamiento humano, su aplicación puede darse en diversas áreas de conocimiento, incluyendo la salud. En ese interin, la enfermería es un campo del saber en que los conocimientos generados se revierten para el cuidado de las personas. Por tanto, la profesión necesita dirigir investigaciones que revelen factores y causas de determinados comportamientos, a fin de elaborar estrategias de intervención subsidiadas por modelos teóricos consistentes que favorezcan la adherencia terapéutica en salud. </p>
			<p>Un desafío para el cuidado de Enfermería es la tentativa de modificación de comportamientos no sanos, a fin de que el individuo viva la salud libre de prejuicios relacionados con las enfermedades crónicas. Así, la relevancia del estudio se basa en la importancia de conocer cómo la Enfermería puede utilizar referenciales teóricos metodológicos de otras áreas del saber, enriqueciendo su corpus de conocimiento, con la finalidad de incentivar el desarrollo de tecnologías del cuidado dirigidas a la promoción de la salud, prevención de problemas y reducción del enfermarse. </p>
			<p>Considerando la relevancia de modelos teórico-metodológicos para los cuidados de Enfermería en el campo de la enseñanza, investigación y asistencia, así como la necesidad de comprensión del comportamiento en salud en sus diversos contextos, esta investigación tiene como pregunta guia: ¿Cuáles son las características de las producciones científicas en Enfermería que utilizaron la Teoría de la Acción Racional como referencial teórico-metodológico? Así, el objetivo fue identificar la producción científica relacionada al uso de la Teoría de la Acción Racional en investigaciones del área de Enfermería. </p>

			<title>MÉTODO</title>
			<p>Se trata de estudio descriptivo, del tipo bibliométrico con enfoque cuantitativo. La bibliometria es un método utilizado en diversas áreas del conocimiento, con la finalidad de agrupar y sintetizar resultados de investigación sobre un tema delimitado o una pregunta orientadora, de modo sistemático y ordenado, lo que contribuye a la construcción y el perfeccionamiento del conocimiento del área investigada<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B6">6</xref>. </p>
			<p>Para el levantamiento de los estudios, se realizó la búsqueda en las bases de datos electrónicas CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing &amp; Allied Health Literature) y Scopus, en el mes de enero de 2017. A fin de obtener estudios desarrollados en el área de Enfermería se utilizó como descriptor el propio nombre de la teoría, Theory of Reasoned Action, y el descriptor controlado del vocabulario Medical Subject Heading (MeSH), Nursing, com interposição del operador booleano AND. De esa forma, se buscó remover el mayor número de estudios que no se adecuaban a la temática investigada. Se optó por establecer límites sobre el año de publicación de las investigaciones, adoptando recorte temporal de 2006-2016, con la finalidad de identificar la literatura de la última década. </p>
			<p>Los criterios de inclusión fueron: artículos oriundos de estudios primarios con uso de la TAR sobre referencial teórico-metodológico, publicados en inglés, español o portugués, dentro del recorte temporal establecido. Se excluyeron relatos de casos, artículos de revisión, capítulos de libros, monografías, disertaciones o tesis, reportajes en periódicos de noticias, editoriales y textos no científicos.</p>
			<p>Los estudios obtenidos fueron leídos en su íntegridad por pares de forma a poder completar el instrumento de recolección de datos. Las informaciones recogidas pasaron por un proceso de doble digitación en planilla del programa Microsoft Excel®, con la intención de identificar inconsistencias y minimizar el riesgo de errores. Después de eso, los datos pasaron por el juzgado de tres estudiantes de doctorado del Programa de Post-Graduación en Enfermería, obteniendo unanimidad en los resultados obtenidos, posibilitando una mejor calidad de la revisión. </p>
			<p>Los artículos que no utilizaron la Teoría de la Acción Racional en el análisis de los datos fueron excluidos. Después de la lectura criteriosa y refinamiento de la búsqueda, fueron seleccionados 22 artículos que compusieron la muestra (<xref ref-type="fig" rid="f1">Figura 1</xref>). </p>

			<title>DISCUSIÓN</title>
			<p>El estudio identificó 22 artículos divulgando la aplicación de la TAR en investigaciones científicas en el área de Enfermería a lo largo de 10 años. Se notó que el mayor número de publicaciones estuvo concentrado en el año 2006 (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B7">7</xref>-<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">10</xref>. De estos, el único estudio realizado en el Brasil fue conducido por Pinto y colaboradores<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">10</xref>, cuyo objetivo fue identificar las creencias y actitudes normativas que contribuyen a la formación de la intención comportamental del enfermero en realizar el estudio hemodinámico por medio del catéter de arteria pulmonar. </p>
			<p>Aunque estudios en el área de Enfermería utilicen otras referencias o modelos teóricos transdisciplinares, se torna importante reflexionar sobre la necesidad de la inclusión del descriptor “enfermería” en producciones desarrolladas por investigadores de esta área. Esa estrategia puede aumentar las chances de identificación de un número mayor de publicaciones con la temática, lo que fortalece la categoría y provoca mayor visibilidad y reconocimiento sobre profesión y ciencia fundamentada en el rigor metodológico. </p>
			<p>Los vehículos de publicaciones internacionales fueron los responsables por la diseminación de los artículos, con destaque para el periódico International Journal of Nursing Practice, con 9,1% del total de periódicos. Se trata de un periódico responsable por la publicación de trabajos originales que buscan el avance y comprensión del desarrollo internacional de la enfermería y obstetricia como disciplina y subárea académica, no excluyendo otras áreas de interés<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B11">11</xref>.</p>
			<p> Las publicaciones seleccionadas en este periódico describían la aplicación de la TAR en la asistencia de enfermería al paciente adulto<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B12">12</xref> y anciano<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B13">13</xref>, ambos estudios realizados en Israel y por el mismo equipo de investigadores. Sobre el Qualis/CAPES/Brasil, el periódico presenta el extracto de clasificación A1, considerada la mejor clasificación del sistema.</p>
			<p>El Sistema Qualis/CAPES/Brasil expresa el resultado de un conjunto de procedimientos usados por la Coordinación de Perfeccionamiento de Personal de Nivel Superior - CAPES, para estratificación de la calidad de las producciones oriundas de los Programas de Post-Graduación Stricto Sensu brasileños. Son evaluadas las producciones intelectuales de investigadores, docentes, discentes y profesionales, además de ayudar en la identificación de los artículos con mayor rigor científico. Los criterios de evaluación adoptan la clasificación en siete extractos indicativos de calidad que varían de: A1 a A2, B1 a B5, y C, siendo A1 y C los atributos de mayor y menor peso, respectivamente<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B14">14</xref>. </p>
			<p>Al observar el Qualis/CAPES de los periódicos seleccionados, se verifica que los vehículos que presentan esta clasificación están en el extracto de mayor calidad, llevando en consideración los atributos de mayor peso (A1). Esta clasificación los apunta para estudios de mayor rigor científico, así como de mayor visibilidad en las producciones de los Programas de Post-Graduación del Brasil.</p>
			<p>En lo que se refiere al factor de impacto (FI), se verificó que el International Journal of Nursing Studies presentó el mayor entre los periódicos investigados con 3.561. El FI es uno de los instrumentos bibliométricos existentes y tiene como objetivo medir la producción científica de los autores, la calidad de las publicaciones y presuntivamente clasificar los periódicos científicos insertos en el Journal Citations Reports (JCR) del Institute for Scientific Informations (ISI)<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B15">15</xref>. </p>
			<p>El FI de una revista científica consiste en la ecuación media de citaciones de los artículos científicos publicados en determinado periódico indexado en una base de datos, o sea, la visibilidad del periódico es proporcional al número de citaciones de determinado artículo. Probablemente el estudio sirve de referencia científica a otras investigaciones en el misma área<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B15">15</xref>. </p>
			<p>El International Journal of Nursing Studies se destaca en la comunidad internacional de salud desde 1963, teniendo como línea editorial estudios que miran evaluar y comprender intervenciones complejas y políticas de salud, a través de trabajos metodológicos que introduzcan o elaboren técnicas analíticas, medidas y métodos de investigación<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B16">16</xref>. </p>
			<p>Se constata a partir de los descriptores utilizados, que los EUA fueron el país que más produjo artículos en enfermería teniendo como referencia la TAR, correspondiendo a 36,4%, con mayor representatividad de procedencia y sede de los periódicos de publicación. Se puede inferir que esto viene del origen de la TAR, ya que fue desarrollada por psicólogos y profesores americanos. Además de eso, se destaca la hegemonía del idioma inglés en las publicaciones investigadas, lo que denota la importancia de esa lengua en la diseminación del conocimiento producido. </p>
			<p>Con relación a la titulación de los autores, predominaron los doctores, lo que permite agregar confiabilidad y relevancia al estudio de fenómenos en el área de la salud y enfermería, sobre el grado de respaldo científico, constituyéndose como el último nivel de titulación y madurez académica. La originalidad de un estudio determina el avance en el conocimiento científico, mediante la publicación inédita de resultados de investigaciones que mejoran la comprensión sobre determinado acontecimiento y contexto.</p>
			<p>En relación a las características del uso de la TAR en los estudios seleccionados, se observaron los siguientes aspectos de análisis: nivel de asistencia a la salud, sub-áreas de la salud, escenario de realización de las investigaciones, enfoque utilizado, objetivos y procedimiento/instrumento de recolección de datos.</p>
			<p>Se verificó que predominó el nivel de asistencia primaria frente a los demás. Dentro de las investigaciones listadas, las temáticas destacadas fueron: prevención del tabaquismo<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B17">17</xref>, cuidado materno-infantil<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B18">18</xref>, atención a las conductas antidepresivas frente a una gestación no planeada<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B19">19</xref>, educación en salud sexual<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B20">20</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B21">21</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B22">22</xref>, decisión en restringir la movilidad de ancianos por riesgos de caídas<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B13">13</xref>, malos tratos<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B23">23</xref> y estrategias de cuidado al anciano<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B24">24</xref>. Al respecto de las temáticas prevalentes, se destacó la educación en salud sexual y cuidados a los ancianos. </p>
			<p>Sobre el uso de la TAR en estudios realizados por la enfermería, los enfoques se referían a: intención comportamental en salud sexual<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B22">22</xref>, infección por el VIH entre hombres que hacen sexo con hombres<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B21">21</xref> y comportamiento de enfermeras sobre educación sexual dirigida a adolescentes escolares<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B20">20</xref>.</p>
			<p>Las sub-áreas de asistencia a la salud que predominaron en los estudios fueron: salud de la mujer<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B22">22</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B25">25</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B26">26</xref>, en ese se enfocaron los siguientes asuntos: intención comportamental en salud sexual<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B22">22</xref>, medidas psicométricas para evaluar actitudes y normas subjetivas sobre el uso de anticoncepcionales orales<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B25">25</xref> y atención a la salud de la gestante HIV positiva<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B26">26</xref>; y salud del anciano<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B13">13</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B23">23</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B24">24</xref>, ya en esa sub-área los temas centrales fueron: cuidados de enfermería dispensados a los ancianos<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B13">13</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B23">23</xref> y la relación entre senilidad y demencias en instituciones de larga permanencia<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B24">24</xref>. </p>
			<p>En el ámbito de la salud mental<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B19">19</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B27">27</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B28">28</xref>, los estudios dieron énfasis a la intención comportamental de la adopción terapéutica antidepresiva entre madres adolescentes<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B19">19</xref>, educación online para enfermeros incentivar el cese del tabaquismo entre personas con sufrimiento mental<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B27">27</xref> e intención de enfermeros en la creación de grupos terapéuticos en ambientes psiquiátricos<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B28">28</xref>. Se resalta la importancia de la utilización de la TAR en esos estudios, una vez que la comprensión sobre intenciones comportamentales relacionadas a contextos de vulnerabilidad social en el ámbito de la psiquiatría y de la dependencia química apunta estrategias al cambio del comportamiento. </p>
			<p>El ámbito hospitalario sobresalió en la mayoría de los estudios<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B7">7</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">10</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B12">12</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B25">25</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B28">28</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B29">29</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B30">30</xref>, destacándose el sector de unidad de terapia intensiva<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B8">8</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B9">9</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">10</xref>. Se observó en esos estudios el foco en obtenerse informaciones sobre creencias e intenciones comportamentales de enfermeros en realizar determinados procedimientos/acciones, como: adherencia a higienización de las manos como herramienta de control de infección hospitalaria<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B8">8</xref>, política de visita abierta como estrategia de humanización del cuidado en salud en la enfermería<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B9">9</xref> y la realización del estudio hemodinámico por enfermeros<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">10</xref>
			</p>
			<p>Los referidos estudios son relevantes a la enfermería por focalizar acciones de ejecución con menor y mayor complejidad en la rutina hospitalaria. Las evidencias científicas pueden permitir la modificación de creencias fragilizadas, constituyéndose como progreso a la categoría, mejorando el funcionamiento del servicio y elevando la calidad de la asistencia ofrecida al paciente.</p>
			<p>Once estudios involucraron a enfermeros como sujetos de las investigaciones, donde se buscó evaluar: creencias y actitudes<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B9">9</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">10</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B27">27</xref>, actitudes<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B25">25</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B29">29</xref>, intenciones comportamentales<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B13">13</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B23">23</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B28">28</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B30">30</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B31">31</xref>) y comportamiento<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B20">20</xref>. Eso deja claro el abanico de opciones que los investigadores pueden utilizar del modelo teórico, sea fragmentado o en su totalidad. Los resultados se fundamentan en constructos que reflejan confiabilidad y consistencia científica relacionada a la TAR. </p>
			<p>Respecto de los aspectos metodológicos de las investigaciones, se observó una prevalencia de estudios descriptivos<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B7">7</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">10</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B13">13</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B17">17</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B18">18</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B19">19</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B20">20</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B21">21</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B22">22</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B23">23</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B24">24</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B28">28</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B31">31</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B32">32</xref>, con enfoque cuantitativo<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B8">8</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B9">9</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B12">12</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B18">18</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B19">19</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B20">20</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B21">21</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B22">22</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B25">25</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B26">26</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B28">28</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B29">29</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B31">31</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B32">32</xref>, utilizando cuestionarios<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B8">8</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B9">9</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B12">12</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B13">13</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B17">17</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B19">19</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B20">20</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B21">21</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B23">23</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B25">25</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B26">26</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B28">28</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B29">29</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B31">31</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B32">32</xref>. 				<article-title>Theory of rational action and its characteristics in nursing research</article-title>
			</title-group>
			<abstract>
				<title>ABSTRACT:</title>
				<sec>
					<title>Objective</title>
					<p> To identify the scientific production related to the use of Rational Action Theory in nursing research. </p>
				</sec>
				<sec>
					<title>Method</title>
					<p> This is a bibliometric study, carried out with 22 articles published in the period 2006-2016, selected in the CINAHL and Scopus databases. </p>
				</sec>
				<sec>
					<title>Results</title>
					<p> The year with the highest number of publications (18.2%) was 2006. The United States of America stood out in the largest amount of research (36.3%), and the International Journal of Nursing Studies had the highest impact factor, 3,561. The results demonstrate hegemony of publications in international journals, demonstrating the global use of the theoretical model in different contexts. </p>
				</sec>
				<sec>
					<title>Conclusions</title>
					<p> It is expected to use this theoretical reference in the scientific production of the area, as well as in the diffusion of its applicability in predicting intentions and behavior in the context of health, being able to be an adjuvant in the promotion of health promotion, and therapeutic adherence related to chronic diseases.</p>

				<title>INTRODUCTIÓN</title>
				<p>Theoretical models have contributed as references for structuring care, adapted to the needs/specificities of people in diverse social and environmental contexts. The theoretical-methodological references offer support for the construction of knowledge and professional practice, since they help in the development of the triad, theory, research, and practice, presenting the complexity and multiplicity of the phenomena present in the health area, with the purpose of describing, explaining, predicting or prescribing human behavior<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B1">1</xref>.</p>
				<p>This study focuses on the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA), originating in social psychology and presented in 1975 by Ajzen and Fishbein, American teachers and researchers. This theoretical model is based on the human being as a rational species, which uses the available information systematically, implicitly or explicitly, whether complete, true or not, to form the behavioral intention. In this way, human behavior is under personal control and the individual could change his behavior by reasoning about what causes him to act in a certain way<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B2">2</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B3">3</xref>.</p>
				<p>TRA has been applied to predict the behavior of the individual in a given situation, as well as to identify the factors that determine it. The behavioral intention of the individual is a function of two basic determinants: one of a personal nature (attitude) and one of social influence (subjective norm). The TRA model uses five constructs in predicting behavior: behavioral beliefs, attitude, normative beliefs, subjective norm, and behavioral intention<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B2">2</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B3">3</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B4">4</xref>.</p>
				<p>Attitude is a function of what the individual believes will happen in performing the behavior (behavioral beliefs) and of the positive or negative evaluations he makes about the consequences of performing that behavior. The subjective norm corresponds to the perception that the individual possesses through social pressures on him to perform or not determined behavior (normative beliefs), as well as the motivation to respond to such pressures<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B2">2</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B5">5</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B4">4</xref>. Behavioral intentions are direct predictors of behavior <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B4">4</xref>.</p>
				<p>Since TRA is a theoretical reference whose focus is to understand and predict human behavior, its application can take place in several areas of knowledge, including health. In the meantime, nursing is a field of knowledge in which the knowledge generated reverts to the care of people. Therefore, the profession needs to conduct research that reveals factors and causes of certain behaviors to elaborate intervention strategies subsidized by consistent theoretical models that favor therapeutic adherence in health.</p>
				<p>A challenge for nursing care is the attempt to modify unhealthy behaviors for the individual to experience health free of damages related to chronic diseases. Thus, the relevance of the study is based on the importance of knowing how Nursing can use theoretical-methodological references of other areas of knowledge, enriching its corpus of knowledge, with the purpose of encouraging the development of care-oriented care technologies health, disease prevention and reduction of illness.</p>
				<p>Considering the relevance of theoretical-methodological models for the direction of Nursing care in the area of teaching, research and care, as well as the need to understand health behavior in its different contexts, this research has as a guided question: What are the characteristics of the productions in Nursing that used the Theory of Rational Action as a theoretical-methodological reference? Thus, the objective was to identify the scientific production related to the use of Rational Action Theory in nursing research.</p>

				<title>METHODS</title>
				<p>This is a descriptive study, of the bibliometric type with a quantitative approach. Bibliometrics is a method used in several areas of knowledge, with the purpose of grouping and synthesizing research results on a delimited topic or a guiding question, in a systematic and orderly way, which contributes to the construction and improvement of knowledge of the area investigated<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B6">6</xref>.</p>
				<p>A search was made in the electronic databases CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing &amp; Allied Health Literature) and Scopus, in January 2017. The own name of the theory, Theory of Reasoned Action, and the controlled descriptor of the medical vocabulary Medical Subject Heading (MeSH), Nursing was used as a descriptor to obtain studies developed in the field of Nursing with interposition of the boolean operator AND. Thus, it was sought to remove the largest number of studies that did not fit the subject matter investigated. It was decided to establish limits regarding the year of publication of the investigations, adopting temporal cut of 2006-2016 to identify the literature of the last decade.</p>
				<p>The inclusion criteria were articles from primary studies using TRA as a theoretical-methodological reference, published in English, Spanish or Portuguese within the established time frame. Case reports, review articles, book chapters, monographs, dissertations or theses, news newspaper articles, editorials and non-scientific texts were excluded.</p>
				<p>The studies were read in full by pairs to fulfill the data collection instrument. The information collected underwent a double spreadsheet process of the Microsoft Excel® program to identify inconsistencies and minimize the risk of errors. After that, the data passed through the judgment of three doctoral students of the Graduate Program in Nursing, obtaining unanimity regarding the results obtained, enabling a better quality of the review.</p>
				<p>Articles that did not use the Theory of Rational Action in data analysis were excluded. After the careful reading and refinement of the search, there were 22 articles selected that composed the sample (<xref ref-type="fig" rid="f4">Figure 1</xref>).</p>

				<p>After the reading, the bibliometric data were inserted in a synoptic table elaborated by the authors, containing the following items: database, title of the publication, title of the authors, year, journal, language, Qualis/Capes/Brazil, objectives, methodological outline and the area of study interest. The study data were analyzed through descriptive statistics. The obtained results are presented by absolute and relative frequencies, shown in the table, figures, and conceptual map. The map was developed through the free Cmap Tools program, version 6.01.01.</p>

				<p>Regarding the methodological approaches used in the investigations, those with a quantitative approach prevailed with 19 articles (86.3%). The qualitative was applied in two (9.1%) and the hybrid in one (4.6%) production. Regarding the objectives, 13 (59%) were descriptive, four (18.2%) were correlational studies, three (13.6%) were quasi-experimental and two (9.2%) were methodological studies. Regarding the procedures for data collection, it was verified that in 18 (82%) surveys there were questionnaires used. Regarding the collection technique, four (18.2%) studies conducted interviews, two (9.1%) used online research technologies and one (4.5%) followed the observation technique.</p>
				<p>Regarding the level of health care, nine (41%) works were performed in primary care, two (9%) in the secondary and seven (32%) in the tertiary. In four (18%) studies, it was not possible to identify the level of care. Next, the characteristics of the productions with the applicability of TRA in the Nursing area, the practice scenario and the target audience of the investigations can be observed (<xref ref-type="fig" rid="f6">Figure 3</xref>).</p>

				<title>DISCUSSION</title>
				<p>The study identified 22 articles disseminating the application of TRA in scientific research in the field of Nursing over 10 years. It was noted that the largest number of publications was concentrated in 2006<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B7">7</xref>-<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">10</xref>. Of them, the only study conducted in Brazil was conducted by Pinto et al.<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">10</xref>, whose objective was to identify the normative beliefs and attitudes that contribute to the formation of the behavioral intention of the nurse in performing the hemodynamic study through the pulmonary artery catheter.</p>
				<p>Although studies in the Nursing area use other references or theoretical transdisciplinary models, it is important to reflect on the need to include the descriptor "nursing" in productions developed by researchers in this area. This strategy can increase the chances of identifying a greater number of publications with the theme, which strengthens the category and provokes greater visibility and recognition as a profession and science based on methodological rigor.</p>
				<p>The publications of international publications were responsible for the dissemination of articles, especially the International Journal of Nursing Practice, accounting for 9.1% of all journals. It is a journal responsible for the publication of original works that seek to advance and understand the international development of nursing and midwifery as an academic discipline and sub-area, not excluding other areas of interest<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B11">11</xref>.</p>
				<p>The publications selected in this journal described the application of TRA in nursing care to adult<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B12">12</xref> and elderly<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B13">13</xref> patients, both studies conducted in Israel and by the same team of researchers. As for Qualis/CAPES/Brazil, the journal presents the classification stratum A1, considered the best classification of the system.</p>
				<p>The Qualis/CAPES/Brazil System expresses the result of a set of procedures used by the Coordination of Improvement of Higher Level Personnel - CAPES, for stratification of the quality of the productions from the Stricto Sensu Brazilian Postgraduate Programs. The intellectual productions of researchers, teachers, students, and professionals are evaluated, as well as helping to identify the articles with greater scientific rigor. The evaluation criteria adopt the classification into seven quality indicative layers ranging from A1 to A2, B1 to B5, and C, with A1 and C being the highest and lowest weight attributes, respectively<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B14">14</xref>.</p>
				<p>When observing the Qualis/CAPES of the selected journals, it is verified that the vehicles that present this classification are in the stratum of higher quality, considering the attributes of greater weight (A1). This classification points towards studies of greater scientific rigor, as well as of greater visibility in the productions of the Graduate Programs of Brazil.</p>
				<p>As regards the impact factor (IF), it was found that the International Journal of Nursing Studies presented the largest of the journals investigated with 3,561. The iF is one of the existing bibliometric instruments and aims to measure the authors' scientific output, the quality of the publications and presumptively classify the scientific journals included in the Journal Citations Reports (JCR) of the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI)<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B15">15</xref>.</p>
				<p>The IF of a scientific journal consists of the average citation equation of the scientific articles published in a given journal indexed in a database, that is, the visibility of the journal is proportional to the number of citations of a particular article. Probably the study serves as a scientific reference to other research in the same area<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B15">15</xref>.</p>
				<p>The International Journal of Nursing Studies has been featured in the international health community since 1963, with editorial studies aimed at evaluating and understanding complex interventions and health policies through methodological work that introduces or elaborates analytical techniques, measures and research methods<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B16">16</xref>.</p>
				<p>From the descriptors used, it is seen that the USA was the country that produced the most articles in nursing, with reference to TRA, corresponding to 36.4%, with the greater representativeness of the origin and headquarters of the published journals. It can be inferred that this derives from the origin of TRA since it had been developed by American psychologists and professors. Also, it is highlighted the hegemony of the English language in the publications researched, which shows the importance of this language in the dissemination of the knowledge produced.</p>
				<p>Regarding the authors' qualifications, doctors predominated, which allows adding reliability and relevance to the study of phenomena in the area of health and nursing, in face of the degree of scientific support, constituting the last level of academic titling and maturity. The originality of a study determines the advance in scientific knowledge by unpublished publication of research results that improve understanding about a given event and context.</p>
				<p>Regarding the characteristics of the use of TRA in the selected studies, the following aspects of analysis were observed: health care level, health subareas, research scenario, the approach used, objectives and procedure/instrument of data collection.</p>
				<p>It was verified that the level of primary assistance preponderated to the others. The following topics were highlighted in the research listed: smoking prevention<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B17">17</xref>, maternal and child care<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B18">18</xref>, attention to antidepressant behaviors against unplanned pregnancy<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B19">19</xref>, sexual health education<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B20">20</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B21">21</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B22">22</xref>, decision to restrict the mobility of elderly people due to the risk of falls<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B13">13</xref>, maltreatment<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B23">23</xref> and elderly people care strategies<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B24">24</xref>. Regarding the prevalent themes, it was highlighted the education in sexual health and care for the elderly person.</p>
				<p>Regarding the use of TRA in nursing studies, the approaches referred to behavioral intention in sexual health<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B22">22</xref>, HIV infection among men who have sex with men<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B21">21</xref>, and behavior of nurses on sex education directed at school adolescents<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B20">20</xref>.</p>
				<p>The subareas of health care that predominated in the studies were: women's health<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B22">22</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B25">25</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B26">26</xref>, in which the following subjects were addressed: behavioral intention in sexual health<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B22">22</xref>, psychometric measures to evaluate subjective attitudes and norms regarding use of oral contraceptives<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B25">25</xref> and health care for pregnant HIV-positive women<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B26">26</xref>; and health of the elderly person<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B13">13</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B23">23</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B24">24</xref>. In this subarea, the central themes were: nursing care given to the elderly person<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B13">13</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B23">23</xref> and the relationship between senility and dementia in long-term care institutions<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B24">24</xref>.</p>
				<p>In the mental health area<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B19">19</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B27">27</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B28">28</xref>, the studies emphasized the behavioral intention of antidepressive therapeutic adoption among adolescent mothers<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B19">19</xref>, online education for nurses to encourage cessation of smoking among people with mental suffering<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B27">27</xref> and intention of nurses in the creation of therapeutic groups in psychiatric settings<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B28">28</xref>. The importance of the use of TRA in these studies is emphasized since the understanding of behavioral intentions related to contexts of social vulnerability in psychiatry and chemical dependence points to strategies for behavior change.</p>
				<p>The hospital area was highlighted in most studies<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B7">7</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">10</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B12">12</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B25">25</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B28">28</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B29">29</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B30">30</xref>, with emphasis on the intensive care unit sector<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B8">8</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B9">9</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">10</xref>. In these studies, the focus was on obtaining information about nurses' behavioral beliefs and intentions in performing certain procedures/actions, such as: adherence to hand hygiene as a tool to control hospital infection<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B8">8</xref>, an open visit policy as a strategy for humanization of health care in nursing<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B9">9</xref> and the accomplishment of the hemodynamic study by nurses<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">10</xref>.</p>
				<p>The aforementioned studies are relevant to nursing because they focus on implementing actions with lesser and greater complexity in the hospital routine. The scientific evidence can allow the modification of weakened beliefs, constituting as progress to the category, improving the functioning of the service and raising the quality of care offered to the patient.</p>
				<p>Eleven studies involved nurses as research subjects, where it was sought to evaluate: beliefs and attitudes<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B9">9</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">10</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B27">27</xref>, attitudes<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B25">25</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B29">29</xref>, behavioral intentions<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B13">13</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B23">23</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B28">28</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B30">30</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B31">31</xref>) and behavior<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B20">20</xref>. This makes clear the range of options that researchers can use from the theoretical model, either fragmented or in its entirety. The results are based on constructs that reflect reliability and scientific consistency related to TRA.</p>
				<p>Regarding the methodological aspects of the researches, a prevalence of descriptive studies<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B7">7</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">10</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B13">13</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B17">17</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B18">18</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B19">19</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B20">20</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B21">21</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B22">22</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B23">23</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B24">24</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B28">28</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B31">31</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B32">32</xref>) was observed, with a quantitative approach <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B8">8</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B9">9</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B12">12</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B18">18</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B19">19</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B20">20</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B21">21</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B22">22</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B25">25</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B26">26</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B28">28</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B29">29</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B31">31</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B32">32</xref>, using questionnaires<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B8">8</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B9">9</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B12">12</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B13">13</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B17">17</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B19">19</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B20">20</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B21">21</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B23">23</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B25">25</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B26">26</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B28">28</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B29">29</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B31">31</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B32">32</xref>. 				<title>INTRODUÇÃO</title>
				<p>Os modelos teóricos têm contribuído como referenciais para estruturar o cuidado, adaptados às necessidades/especificidades das pessoas nos diversos contextos sociais e ambientais. Os referenciais teórico-metodológicos oferecem subsídios para a construção do saber e da prática profissional, pois auxiliam no desenvolvimento da tríade, teoria, pesquisa e prática, apresentando a complexidade e multiplicidade dos fenômenos presentes no campo da saúde, com o objetivo de descrever, explicar, prever ou prescrever comportamentos humanos<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B1">1</xref>.</p>
				<p>Este estudo apresenta como foco a Theory of Reasoned Action - Teoria da Ação Racional (TAR), originária da psicologia social e apresentada em 1975 por Ajzen e Fishbein, professores e pesquisadores americanos. Este modelo teórico fundamenta-se no ser humano enquanto espécie racional, que faz uso de modo sistemático, implícito ou explícito, das informações disponíveis, sejam elas completas, verídicas ou não, para formar a intenção comportamental. Desse modo, o comportamento humano está sob controle pessoal e, portanto, o indivíduo poderia mudar a sua conduta raciocinando sobre o que o leva a agir de determinada forma<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B2">2</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B3">3</xref>. </p>
				<p>A TAR tem sido aplicada para predizer o comportamento do indivíduo diante de determinada situação, bem como identificar os fatores que o determinam. A intenção comportamental do indivíduo é função de dois determinantes básicos: um de natureza pessoal (atitude) e outro de influência social (norma subjetiva). O modelo TAR, utiliza cinco construtos na predição do comportamento: as crenças comportamentais, a atitude, as crenças normativas, a norma subjetiva e a intenção comportamental<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B2">2</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B3">3</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B4">4</xref>. </p>
				<p>A atitude é uma função daquilo que o indivíduo crê que irá acontecer ao desempenhar o comportamento (crenças comportamentais) e das avaliações positivas ou negativas que ele faz a respeito das consequências da execução desse comportamento. A norma subjetiva corresponde a percepção que o indivíduo possui mediante pressões sociais sobre ele para realizar ou não determinado comportamento (crenças normativas), bem como a motivação para corresponder a tais pressões<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B2">2</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B5">5</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B4">4</xref>. Já as intenções comportamentais são preditores diretos da realização de um comportamento<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B4">4</xref>. </p>
				<p>Sendo a TAR um referencial teórico cujo foco é entender e predizer o comportamento humano, sua aplicação pode se dar em diversas áreas de conhecimento, incluindo a saúde. Nesse ínterim, a enfermagem é um campo do saber em que os conhecimentos gerados se revertem para o cuidado das pessoas. Logo, a profissão necessita direcionar pesquisas que revelem fatores e causas de determinados comportamentos, a fim de elaborar estratégias de intervenção subsidiadas por modelos teóricos consistentes que favoreçam a adesão terapêutica em saúde. </p>
				<p>Um desafio para o cuidado de Enfermagem é a tentativa de modificação de comportamentos não saudáveis, a fim de que o indivíduo vivencie a saúde livre de prejuízos relacionados às doenças crônicas. Assim, a relevância do estudo se assenta na importância de conhecer como a Enfermagem pode utilizar-se de referenciais teóricos metodológicos de outras áreas do saber, enriquecendo o seu corpus de conhecimento, com a finalidade de incentivar o desenvolvimento de tecnologias do cuidado direcionadas à promoção da saúde, prevenção de agravos e redução do adoecimento. </p>
				<p>Considerando a relevância de modelos teórico-metodológicos para direcionamento do cuidado de Enfermagem no campo do ensino, pesquisa e assistência, bem como a necessidade de compreensão do comportamento em saúde em seus diversos contextos, esta investigação possuiu como questão norte: Quais as características das produções científicas na Enfermagem que utilizaram a Teoria da Ação Racional enquanto referencial teórico-metodológico? Assim, objetivou-se identificar a produção científica relacionada ao uso da Teoria da Ação Racional em pesquisas da área de Enfermagem. </p>

				<title>MÉTODO</title>
				<p>Trata-se de estudo descritivo, do tipo bibliométrico com abordagem quantitativa. A bibliometria é um método utilizado em diversas áreas do conhecimento, com a finalidade de agrupar e sintetizar resultados de pesquisas sobre um tema delimitado ou uma questão norteadora, de modo sistemático e ordenado, o que contribui para a construção e o aperfeiçoamento de conhecimento da área investigada<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B6">6</xref>. </p>
				<p>Para o levantamento dos estudos, foi realizada busca nas bases de dados eletrônicas CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing &amp; Allied Health Literature) e Scopus, no mês de janeiro de 2017. A fim de obter estudos desenvolvidos na área da Enfermagem foi utilizado como descritor o próprio nome da teoria, Theory of Reasoned Action, e o descritor controlado do vocabulário Medical Subject Heading (MeSH), Nursing, com interposição do operador booleano AND. Dessa forma, buscou-se, remover o maior número de estudos que não se adequavam a temática investigada. Optou-se por estabelecer limites quanto ao ano de publicação das investigações, adotando recorte temporal de 2006-2016, com a finalidade de identificar a literatura da última década. </p>
				<p>Os critérios de inclusão foram: artigos oriundos de estudos primários com uso da TAR enquanto referencial teórico-metodológico, publicados em inglês, espanhol ou português, dentro do recorte temporal estabelecido. Excluíram-se relatos de casos, artigos de revisão, capítulos de livros, monografias, dissertações ou teses, reportagens em jornais de notícias, editoriais e textos não científicos.</p>
				<p>Os estudos obtidos foram lidos na íntegra por pares de forma a atender ao preenchimento do instrumento de coleta de dados. As informações colhidas passaram por um processo de dupla digitação em planilha do programa Microsoft Excel®, com o intuito de identificar inconsistências e minimizar o risco de erros. Após isso, os dados passaram pelo julgamento de três doutorandos do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Enfermagem, obtendo unanimidade quanto aos resultados obtidos, possibilitando uma melhor qualidade da revisão. </p>
				<p>Os artigos que não utilizaram a Teoria da Ação Racional na análise dos dados foram excluídos. Após a leitura criteriosa e refinamento da busca, foram selecionados 22 artigos que compuseram a amostra (<xref ref-type="fig" rid="f7">Figura 1</xref>). </p>

				<title>DISCUSSÃO</title>
				<p>O estudo identificou 22 artigos divulgando a aplicação da TAR em pesquisas científicas na área da Enfermagem ao longo de 10 anos. Notou-se que o maior número de publicações esteve concentrado no ano de 2006 (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B7">7</xref>-<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">10</xref>. Destes, o único estudo realizado no Brasil foi conduzido por Pinto e colaboradores<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">10</xref>, cujo objetivo foi identificar as crenças e atitudes normativas que contribuem para a formação da intenção comportamental do enfermeiro em realizar o estudo hemodinâmico por meio do cateter de artéria pulmonar. </p>
				<p>Embora estudos na área da Enfermagem utilizem outros referencias ou modelos teóricos transdisciplinares, torna-se importante refletir sobre a necessidade da inclusão do descritor “enfermagem” em produções desenvolvidas por pesquisadores desta área. Essa estratégia pode aumentar as chances de identificação de um número maior de publicações com a temática, o que fortalece a categoria e provoca maior visibilidade e reconhecimento enquanto profissão e ciência fundamentada no rigor metodológico. </p>
				<p>Os veículos de publicações internacionais foram os responsáveis pela disseminação dos artigos, com destaque para o periódico International Journal of Nursing Practice, perfazendo 9,1% do total de periódicos. Trata-se de um periódico responsável pela publicação de trabalhos originais que buscam o avanço e compreensão do desenvolvimento internacional da enfermagem e obstetrícia enquanto disciplina e subárea acadêmica, não excluindo outras áreas de interesse<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B11">11</xref>.</p>
				<p>As publicações selecionadas neste periódico descreviam a aplicação da TAR na assistência de enfermagem ao paciente adulto<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B12">12</xref> e idoso<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B13">13</xref>, ambos estudos realizados em Israel e pela mesma equipe de pesquisadores. Quanto ao Qualis/CAPES/Brasil, o periódico apresenta o estrato de classificação A1, considerada a melhor classificação do sistema.</p>
				<p>O Sistema Qualis/CAPES/Brasil expressa o resultado de um conjunto de procedimentos usados pela Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES, para estratificação da qualidade das produções oriundas dos Programas de Pós-Graduação Stricto Sensu brasileiros. São avaliadas as produções intelectuais de pesquisadores, docentes, discentes e profissionais, além de ajudar na identificação dos artigos com maior rigor científico. Os critérios de avaliação adotam a classificação em sete estratos indicativos de qualidade que variam de: A1 a A2, B1 a B5, e C, sendo A1 e C os atributos de maior e menor peso, respectivamente<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B14">14</xref>. </p>
				<p>Ao observar o Qualis/CAPES dos periódicos selecionados, verifica-se que os veículos que apresentam esta classificação estão no estrato de maior qualidade, levando em consideração os atributos de maior peso (A1). Esta classificação nos aponta para estudos de maior rigor científico, bem como de maior visibilidade nas produções dos Programas de Pós-Graduação do Brasil.</p>
				<p>No que se refere ao fator de impacto (FI), verificou-se que o International Journal of Nursing Studies apresentou o maior dentre os periódicos investigados com 3.561. O FI é um dos instrumentos bibliométricos existentes e tem como objetivo medir a produção científica dos autores, a qualidade das publicações e presuntivamente classificar os periódicos científicos inseridos no Journal Citations Reports (JCR) do Institute for Scientific Informations (ISI)<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B15">15</xref>. </p>
				<p>O FI de uma revista científica consiste na equação média de citações dos artigos científicos publicados em determinado periódico indexado em uma base de dados, ou seja, a visibilidade do periódico é proporcional ao número de citações de determinado artigo. Provavelmente o estudo serve de referência científica a outras pesquisas na mesma área<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B15">15</xref>. </p>
				<p>O International Journal of Nursing Studies destaca-se na comunidade internacional de saúde desde 1963, tendo como linha editorial estudos que visam avaliar e compreender intervenções complexas e políticas de saúde, através de trabalhos metodológicos que introduzam ou elaborem técnicas analíticas, medidas e métodos de pesquisa<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B16">16</xref>. </p>
				<p>Constata-se a partir dos descritores utilizados, que os EUA foram o país que mais produziu artigos na enfermagem tendo como referencial a TAR, correspondendo a 36,4%, com maior representatividade de procedência e sede dos periódicos de publicação. Pode-se inferir que isto decorra da origem da TAR, já que fora desenvolvida por psicólogos e professores americanos. Além disso, destaca-se a hegemonia do idioma inglês nas publicações pesquisadas, o que denota a importância dessa língua na disseminação do conhecimento produzido. </p>
				<p>Com relação à titulação dos autores, predominaram os doutores, o que permite agregar confiabilidade e relevância ao estudo de fenômenos na área da saúde e enfermagem, em face ao grau de respaldo científico, constituindo-se como o último nível de titulação e maturidade acadêmica. A originalidade de um estudo determina o avanço no conhecimento científico, mediante a publicação inédita de resultados de pesquisas que aprimoram a compreensão sobre determinado acontecimento e contexto.</p>
				<p>Em relação as características do uso da TAR nos estudos selecionados, observaram-se os seguintes aspectos de análise: nível de assistência à saúde, subáreas da saúde, cenário de realização das pesquisas, abordagem utilizada, objetivos e procedimento/instrumento de coleta de dados.</p>
				<p>Verificou-se que o nível de assistência primária preponderou aos demais. Dentre as pesquisas elencadas, as temáticas em destaque foram: prevenção do tabagismo<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B17">17</xref>, cuidado materno-infantil<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B18">18</xref>, atenção às condutas antidepressivas frente a uma gestação não planejada<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B19">19</xref>, educação em saúde sexual<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B20">20</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B21">21</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B22">22</xref>, decisão em restringir a mobilidade de idosos por riscos de quedas<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B13">13</xref>, maus tratos<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B23">23</xref> e estratégias de cuidado ao idoso<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B24">24</xref>. No que diz respeito às temáticas prevalentes, destacou-se a educação em saúde sexual e cuidados aos idosos. </p>
				<p>Quanto ao uso da TAR em estudos realizados pela enfermagem, as abordagens se referiam a: intenção comportamental em saúde sexual<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B22">22</xref>, infecção pelo HIV entre homens que fazem sexo com homens<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B21">21</xref> e comportamento de enfermeiras sobre educação sexual direcionada a adolescentes escolares<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B20">20</xref>. </p>
				<p>As subáreas de assistência à saúde que predominaram nos estudos foram: saúde da mulher<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B22">22</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B25">25</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B26">26</xref>, nessa abordaram-se os seguintes assuntos: intenção comportamental em saúde sexual<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B22">22</xref>, medidas psicométricas para avaliar atitudes e normas subjetivas quanto ao uso de anticoncepcionais orais<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B25">25</xref> e atenção à saúde da gestante HIV positiva<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B26">26</xref>; e saúde do idoso<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B13">13</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B23">23</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B24">24</xref>, já nessa subárea os temas centrais foram: cuidados de enfermagem dispensados ao idosos<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B13">13</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B23">23</xref> e a relação entre senilidade e demências em instituições de longa permanência<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B24">24</xref>. </p>
				<p>No âmbito da saúde mental<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B19">19</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B27">27</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B28">28</xref>, os estudos deram ênfase à intenção comportamental da adoção terapêutica antidepressiva entre mães adolescentes<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B19">19</xref>, educação online para enfermeiros incentivarem a cessação do tabagismo entre pessoas com sofrimento mental<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B27">27</xref> e intenção de enfermeiros na criação de grupos terapêuticos em ambientes psiquiátricos<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B28">28</xref>. Ressalta-se a importância da utilização da TAR nesses estudos, uma vez que a compreensão sobre intenções comportamentais relacionadas a contextos de vulnerabilidade social no âmbito da psiquiatria e da dependência química apontam estratégias à mudança do comportamento. </p>
				<p>O âmbito hospitalar sobressaiu na maior parte dos estudos<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B7">7</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">10</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B12">12</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B25">25</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B28">28</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B29">29</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B30">30</xref>, destacando-se o setor de unidade de terapia intensiva<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B8">8</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B9">9</xref>)(<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">10</xref>. Observou-se nesses estudos o foco em se obter informações sobre crenças e intenções comportamentais de enfermeiros em realizar determinados procedimentos/ações, como: adesão a higienização das mãos como ferramenta de controle de infecção hospitalar<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B8">8</xref>, política de visita aberta como estratégia de humanização do cuidado em saúde na enfermagem<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B9">9</xref> e a realização do estudo hemodinâmico por enfermeiros<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="B10">10</xref>

				<p>Os estudos supracitados são relevantes à enfermagem por focalizar ações de execução com menor e maior complexidade na rotina hospitalar. As evidências científicas podem permitir a modificação de crenças fragilizadas, constituindo-se como progresso à categoria, melhorando o funcionamento do serviço e elevando a qualidade da assistência oferecida ao paciente.</p>
