In this paper, the authors inadvertently made a mistake when writing the specific epithet in the Description Section (p. 929), as Profundulus mixtlanesis instead of the correct specific epithet Profundulus mixtlanensis. Considering this, there is a duplicate in the specific epithet (1 mention in the case of Profundulus mixtlanesis and 29 mentions as P. mixtlanensis). Acting as the first reviewers and accordingly to the article 24.2.2 of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (ICZN, 1999), we select the epithet mixtlanensis as the correct epithet for the species, while mixtlanesis (p. 929) corresponds to an incorrect epithet and therefore not available.
