Rhabdomyomas are rare fetal cardiac tumours that may be present in up to 86 % of newborns. They are mostly found in the interventricular septum, atrial or ventricular free wall and infrequently in the atrioventricular valves. It depends on the size of the tumour to have fetal haemodynamic repercussions.
Ultrasound examination shows a hyperechogenic lesion in the interventricular septum with protrusion into the right ventricular cavity, accompanied by mild deviation of the interventricular septum and associated at the time of examination with ventricular arrhythmia.
