Normas de Colaboración
El envío y seguimiento de artículos se hará on-line en la
dirección http://www.udea.edu.co/iee. Luego del recibo, el artículo es sometido
a evaluación por pares, los que recomiendan su aceptación o rechazo mediante un
sistema de arbitraje adelantado por expertos nacionales e internacionales. Por
último, es el Comité Editorial el que, con base en los criterios generales de
la revista, el valor académico del artículo y la opinión de los árbitros,
define o no la publicación del artículo. Los manuscritos aprobados serán
traducidos para publicarlos en inglés.
Investigación y Educación en
Enfermería
se reserva el derecho de hacer revisiones de estilo tendientes a lograr más
claridad y concisión del texto. Los textos y el material gráfico incluidos en
el material a publicar son de exclusiva responsabilidad de los autores y no

revista se adhiere a las recomendaciones de COPE (Committee
on Publication Ethics) acerca de mejores prácticas éticas en la
publicación.
Tipo de artículos que se reciben para publicación
Artículo original. Documento que
presenta de manera detallada los resultados originales de investigaciones. La
estructura tiene cuatro secciones: introducción, metodología, resultados y
discusión. Número máximo de referencias permitidas: 25.
Artículo de revisión. Documento resultado
de una investigación, donde se analizan e integran los resultados de
investigaciones sobre un campo en ciencia o tecnología, con el fin de dar
cuenta de los avances y las tendencias de desarrollo. Se caracteriza por una
cuidadosa revisión bibliográfica y por citar por lo menos 60 referencias en el
cuerpo del texto.
Artículo de reflexión resultado de investigación. Ensayo que
presenta resultados de investigación desde una perspectiva analítica,
interpretativa o crítica del autor, sobre un tema específico, recurriendo a
fuentes originales. Número máximo de referencias permitidas: 25.
Reporte de caso (situaciones de enfermería). Documento
que presenta los resultados de un estudio sobre una situación de enfermería en
particular, con el fin de dar a conocer las experiencias y metodologías
consideradas en la situación específica. Número máximo de referencias
permitidas: 10.
Artículo de reflexión no derivado de investigación.
Ensayo
que no es producto de una investigación, pero que utiliza una perspectiva
analítica, interpretativa o crítica del autor, sobre un tema específico,
recurriendo a fuentes originales. Número máximo de referencias permitidas: 25.
Cartas al editor. Posiciones críticas,
analíticas o interpretativas sobre los documentos publicados en la revista, que
a juicio del Comité Editorial, constituyan un aporte importante a la discusión
del tema por parte de la comunidad científica de referencia.
Editorial. Documento escrito por
el editor, un miembro del comité editorial o un investigador invitado sobre
orientaciones en el dominio temático
de la revista.
Buenas prácticas clínicas en enfermería. Es un artículo acerca de las experiencias de implementación de buenas
prácticas de enfermería. Número máximo de referencias permitidas: 25.
Ensayo. Es una
composición literaria corta sobre un único tema, generalmente presenta un punto
de vista personal del autor. Número máximo de referencias permitidas: 25.
Otros. Se estudiarán para publicación otros artículos
como: reseñas bibliográficas y experiencias de cuidado o de
enseñanza-aprendizaje en las áreas de la salud.
Requisitos para la presentación de artículos
Carta de cesión de derechos. Cada
artículo se acompañará de una carta de los autores especificando que los
materiales son inéditos y que no se presentarán a ningún otro medio antes de
conocer la decisión de la Revista. Los autores adjuntarán hoja de vida y una
declaración firmada indicando que si el artículo se acepta para su publicación,
los derechos de reproducción serán propiedad exclusiva de Investigación y Educación en Enfermería.
Características del archivo del artículo
El trabajo no excederá
las 20 páginas tamaño carta, escritas a doble espacio, sin espacios adicionales
entre párrafos y títulos, en letra tipo “Times New Roman”,
tamaño 12. Los márgenes derecho e izquierdo de
Especificaciones
sobre la forma en que deben ser presentadas las secciones del artículo
Portada.
Es
esencial que en la primera página aparezca el
título, el cual debe
ser conciso pero informativo y no debe tener más de 80 caracteres. Además, debe
contener la lista de autores, con los nombres completos y los apellidos,
en el orden en que aparecen en la carta de cesión de derechos. Se complementará
esta información con los grados académicos, cargo e institución donde labora.
Adicionalmente, los autores darán un email, para la correspondencia con los
editores y lectores.
Resumen. El artículo incluirá un resumen en el idioma original y en inglés que no
supere las 250 palabras. Para los artículos originales se exige un
resumen estructurado, que debe definir específicamente las secciones de:
objetivo, metodología, resultados y conclusión. Para los artículos de revisión,
reflexión, situación de enfermería y traducciones, el resumen deberá incluir: el objetivo, la síntesis del contenido y la
conclusión, sin exceder las 200 palabras. En todos los casos, los
autores deben dar entre tres y seis palabras clave que mejor identifiquen el
tema. Se recomienda consultar los
Descriptores en Ciencias de la Salud (DeCS), la
Biblioteca Virtual en Salud del proyecto BIREME, de la Organización Mundial de
la Salud y de la Organización Panamericana de la Salud, disponibles en la dirección:
http://decs.bvs.br/E/homepagee.htm, donde se encuentran las palabras clave en
español, inglés y portugués.
Información sobre ayudas y subvenciones. Si el trabajo es derivado de investigación, se debe incluir el nombre de
la investigación asociada; además, información acerca de cualquier beca o
subvención recibida de entidades u organismos de cualquier tipo, que financie
el trabajo en que se basa el artículo.
Información sobre
conflictos de interés.
Los autores deberán declarar los conflictos de interés que se presenten en
la investigación de la cual es producto el artículo. La revista asume que hay
un conflicto de este tipo cuando existe una relación financiera u otra
circunstancia que pudiera afectar el buen juicio o la conducta de un autor.
Secciones
de los artículos originales. Se resumen a continuación los lineamientos
generales para la presentación de estos artículos:
Introducción. El autor
debe establecer en esta sección el propósito del estudio y resumir su
fundamento lógico, haciendo algunas referencias pertinentes.
Metodología. Esta
sección debe detallar el proceso de selección de las personas o fenómenos
estudiados, incluyendo el lugar, tiempo y población del estudio; la información
necesaria acerca del diseño, los procedimientos, los instrumentos de medida y
los métodos de análisis empleados. Los métodos estadísticos que no sean
habituales en investigación deben describirse con suficiente detalle. En forma
de anexo puede incluirse información adicional que resulte de especial interés,
Cuando sea del caso, deben describirse brevemente las normas éticas que han
seguido los investigadores, tanto en estudios observacionales como de
intervención. Aspectos éticos: los artículos sobre investigaciones con
humanos deberán contar con la aprobación del comité de ética correspondiente y
brindar detalles sobre si se obtuvo consentimiento informado, copia de ambos
documentos deberán ser enviados. Los ensayos clínicos controlados deben
reportar el código de su registro.
Resultados. Deben
presentarse en secuencia lógica, con sus respectivas tablas y gráficas, que
serán comentadas en sus principales hallazgos dentro del texto.
Discusión. En esta
sección, los autores enfatizan en los aspectos más importantes del estudio, y
se comparan los resultados con los de otras investigaciones similares. Se debe
evitar discutir situaciones que no estén apoyadas en los hallazgos. Deben
señalarse las limitaciones del estudio y discutir sus potenciales implicaciones
en la interpretación de los resultados.
En el último párrafo de esta sección se anotarán una o más conclusiones
que se desprenden de los resultados del estudio.
Tablas y gráficas. Recogen
información de manera resumida y la presentan eficientemente. También permiten
mostrar la información con el nivel deseado de detalle y precisión. La
inclusión de datos en las tablas y gráficas, en lugar de en el texto,
habitualmente permite reducir la extensión del mismo. Las tablas y gráficas
deben ir numeradas consecutivamente, en el mismo orden que fueron citadas por
primera vez en el texto. Cada una debe acompañarse de un título breve. Las
tablas, en ocasiones, contienen explicaciones que deben ser incluidas en notas
de pie de página, después de los siguientes símbolos, siguiendo el mismo orden
presentado: *, †, ‡, §, ||, ¶, **, ††, ‡‡.
Los autores deben utilizar las abreviaturas de las unidades según las
instrucciones del Sistema Internacional de Medidas, las cuales pueden ser
consultadas en la siguiente dirección:

Abreviaturas.
Se
deben utilizar únicamente abreviaturas comunes. Los autores deben evitar el uso
de abreviaturas en el título del trabajo. La primera vez que aparezca una abreviatura
en el texto debe estar precedida por el término completo al que se refiere,
excepto en el caso de unidades de medida comunes.
Referencias. Las
referencias bibliográficas deben ubicarse en el texto con el número
correspondiente en forma de superíndice, en el orden de aparición de citación.
La sección de referencias se presentará en hojas separadas del texto y estará
numerada en forma consecutiva, de acuerdo con el orden de citación del material
documental. Investigación y Educación en Enfermería sigue las consideraciones
generales sobre las referencias bibliográficas, del Comité Internacional de
Editores de Revistas Médicas (normas de Vancouver), que son adaptación de las
propuestas de la National Library of Medicine (NLM),
de Estados Unidos.

Guidelines
Submitting
and tracking the articles will be an on-line process in the web page
http://www.udea.edu.co/iee. After receiving the article it is
submitted to peer-review, they recommend its acceptance or rejection
through an arbitration system developed by national and international experts.
Finally, the Editorial Committee based on the journal’s general criteria, the
academic value of the article and the arbitrator’s opinion is the one in charge
of accept or reject the publication of the submitted article. All manuscripts accepted for publication will be translated in English.

This

Type of articles
received for publication
Original article. It is a document that presents in
detail research original results. The structure has four sections:
Introduction, methodology, results and discussion. A maximum of 25 references is allowed.
Review article. It is a document resulting
from of a research where research results belonging to the science or
technology field are analyzed and integrated in order to
account for the development trends and progress. It is characterized by a careful literature review of at least
60 references cited in the text body.
Essay. It is a composition that presents
research results from an analytical interpretative or critical point of view
about a specific topic using original sources. A maximum of 25
references is allowed.
Case
report (Nursing situations). It is a manuscript that presents the
results of a study about a particular nursing situation in order to let readers
know about the experiences and decisions made on such a situation. A maximum of 10 references is allowed.
Perspective
article not derived from a research. It is a manuscript which
is not the product or result of a research but presents its results from an
analytical interpretative or critical point of view about a specific topic
using original sources. A maximum of 25 references is allowed.
Letters to the editor. Critical analytical or interpretative views about articles published in the Journal,
which in the opinion of the Editorial Committee is an important contribution to
the discussion of the subject by the reference scientific community.
Editorial. It is a document
written by the editor, an editorial committee member or a guest researcher
about principles in the thematic domain of the journal.
Good clinical
practice in nursing. It is
an article about experiences of implementation of Good Clinical Practice in
nursing. A maximum of 25 references is allowed.
Requirement for submitting your articles
Transfer of rights letter: Each item will be accompanied by a letter from the authors
stating that such material is unpublished and that it will not be submitted to
any other publication means before knowing the journal decision. The authors will be required to
attach their curriculum vitae and a signed statement indicating that if the
article is accepted for publication all copyright will
be exclusive property of Investigación y Educación en Enfermería journal.
Instructions for the article: The manuscript should not exceed 20 letter-sized pages, double-spaced
with no additional spaces between paragraphs and titles, “Times New Roman”
typeface size 12. The right, left upper and lower margins should be 3 cm.
Specifications on how the article sections should be
submitted
Front page. It is of vital
importance to provide a title to the paper on the first page; the title should
be concise descriptive and limited to 80 characters. It should also contain the
list of authors with their full names according to the order in which they appear
in the rights transfer letter. This information should be
complemented with the highest graduate degree; the department and
institutional affiliation of each author. In addition
the author(s) e-mail address to which correspondence should be addressed should
be provided.
Abstract. Provide an abstract in the
original language and in English of no more than 250 words each. For original researches it should consist of four paragraphs, labeled
Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions. For review, perspective, nursing
situations and translation articles, the summary should include:
Background, Synopsis of Contents and Conclusions, being limited to 200 words.
At all times, the
authors should provide three to six keywords that best identify the subject. Descriptors
in Health Sciences (DeCS), the Virtual Library in
Health from the BIREME project of the World Health Organization and the
Pan-American Health Organization can be consulted at:
http://decs.bvs.br/E/homepagee.htm where keywords in Spanish, English and
Portuguese can be found.
Information about support and grants. If the manuscript is derived from a research, the name of the latter should be
included. In addition, it should be included any information about support or
grants received by institutions or groups of any kind that fund the research on
which the manuscript is based.
Conflict of interest. Authors of research
articles should disclose any financial arrangement they may have with a company
whose product is pertinent to the submitted manuscript. The Journal assumes the
existence of a conflict of this nature when there is a financial relation or
other circumstances that could interfere with the fair judgment or conduct of
the authors.
Sections of original articles
A summary of general guidelines for the
submission of these articles is presented below.
Introduction. The authors should
state in this paragraph the purpose of the study and summarize their rationale,
citing related references.
Methods. This section should explain in
detail the process of selection of the people or phenomena studied, as well as
the location, time and studied population. The necessary information about
design, procedures, measurement tools and analysis methods used. Statistical
methods unusual in researching should be described in
detail. Additional information that
could be of special interest can be attached. When
applicable, ethical standards followed by the investigators should
be described briefly in observational studies as well as intervention
studies. Articles about research done on human beings should have the approval
of the pertinent Ethics Committee, and so should be stated
in the manuscript. Ethical aspects: the articles on
human research must be approved by the ethics committee concerned,
detailing how informed consent was obtained; copies of both documents should be
sent. Randomized Controlled clinical
trials should report the trial registration code.
Results. Results should be presented in a
logical sequence, along with their tables and graphs which
will be commented on in the most relevant findings within the text.
Discussion. In this section the authors emphasize the most important aspects of
the study, and are compared with the results of other similar researches.
Discussion about situations not supported by findings should
be avoided. Limitations of the study should be pointed
out and their potential repercussions on the interpretations of results
should be discussed. In the last paragraph of this section should
be written one or more conclusions derived from the results or the
study.
Tables and graphs. These collect
information in a summarized manner and present it most efficiently. These also
allow information to be shown with the desired level
of detail and precision. The inclusion of data in tables and graphs, instead of
in the text, usually allows for reducing the extension of the latter.
Tables and graphs should be numbered sequentially, in the same order in which
they are cited for the fist time within the text.
Each one should be accompanied by a brief title.
Tables sometimes contain explanations that have to be included in footnotes
following the next symbols, with the same presented order: *, †, ‡, §, ||, ¶,
**, ††, ‡‡.
Authors should use
abbreviated units according to the instructions dictated by the International
System of Measurements as can be consulted at: http://physics.nist.gov/cuu/Units/index.html
Abbreviations. Only common
abbreviations should be used. The authors should avoid
using abbreviations in the title of the article. The first time an abbreviation
appears in the text it should be preceded by the
complete term to which it refers to, except in the case of common measurement
units.
Reference
presentation requirements. The bibliographic
references should be placed in the text with the
corresponding number and order of appearance as a super index. The references
section will be submitted on separate pages of the
text; they will be numbered consecutively according to the citation order of
documentary material.
Investigación y Educación en Enfermería follows the general considerations about bibliographic references of
the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (Vancouver Uniform
Requirements) which are
adapted from the proposals developed by the National Library of Medicine in the
United States. The authors who desire to get additional information
