POSTING RULES

Journal of the Faculty of Architecture of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo Leon is a scientific journal published since 2007 under the auspices of the Faculty of Architecture of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo Leon.

The Editorial Board would welcome any original articles and book reviews to the editor.

Objectives and policy of CONTEXT is an annual publication specializing in architecture and urban and regional studies, emphasizing interdisciplinary research from the Social Sciences and Humanities (Architecture, Urban Planning, Geography, Sociology, Economics, Anthropology, Psychology, History, Education and other end) anywhere in the world, but prioritizing the topics focused on Latin America and the Caribbean. The evaluation of the papers received not consider publishing those overly restricted or local character, but those whose contribution is of interest to the international scientific community.

Sending originals.

The articles must be original, written in Spanish, English or French, relating to their own research in the areas of architecture and urban and regional studies. Shall be sent to the Editorial of the journal CONTEXT. Arbitration items in CONTEXTO.

The original selection is governed by the system of external evaluation and anonymous, confidential matter experts (blind pairs method chosen at random). In case of discrepancy in the peer evaluation, the text will be sent to a third referee, whose decision will define its publication. The results of the academic opinion will be final in all cases. At the time of acceptance for publication of their articles, authors should formalize the assignment of copyright to CONTEXT, under the conditions set by the Journal. The authors have the right to receive a copy of the volume in which his work appeared.

Overview. On the first page of any collaboration should include general information about the item and its (s) author (s), including: article title, description, full name, nationality, E-mail, cell, Center, or Department that is attached labor, street address, city and country.

Presentation and length of articles.

The articles must not contain any evidence of identity or institutional affiliations of the authors, except where this is requested. The text should be submitted in letter size, single-spaced, in Times New Roman font type 12 point, with an area of between 4,000 and 10,000 words presented in a maximum of 30 pages in the case of scientific articles (including tables, figures, notes and bibliography) and 1,500 words for book reviews. Items that do not meet this requirement will be returned to the authors.

Papers should include a title, which, with the fewest possible words, adequately describing the content of the article. The title should be translated into English. Also include a summary in the original language in which the article is written and in English, not to exceed 200 words. Must be accompanied by three descriptors or keywords separated by (,), in the original language and English article. This rule does not apply to the Reviews section.

The hierarchy of the content (headings and subheadings) will be the capital for the first level small caps, and italic for the second round for the third.

Do not bleeding at the beginning of paragraph, or space between the two.

To highlight words or expressions are used italics or quotation marks, never be resorted to underline or highlight in bold.

Tables, Figures and graphics shall conform to the case of the Journal, should be numbered consecutively (Arabic numerals) and independently, take a brief title (centered, in capital letters). At the foot sources indicated. The headwaters of the pictures will be composed in italics, the rest normal.

Notes and references. Notes should be the essential and are placed at the bottom of each page. No footnotes include page references. The references should not be excessively long (only mentioned in the text), and must appear at the end of the complete article, ordered alphabetically and, for each author, in chronological order, from oldest to youngest.

To the authors or authors quote the text in brackets indicate the last name separated by a comma and year (Pérez, 2005), in case the quotation is text, the text shall quotation marks, and brackets in addition to the name and the year, the page where the text quoted (Perez, 2005: 27). The full citation will be the end of the text, not footnotes.

The references. Indicate only the works cited in the text. It will use the alphabetical order of names, the first letter uppercase and lowercase follows, followed, preferably, the full name of the author / s or author /authors and the year of publication in parentheses. In case of multiple citations by the same author and the same year, work is differentiated by consecutive lowercase letters after the year:

In the case of a book, the title goes in italics, indicating the city below and the publisher.

Example: Andrews, Gavin J. and Phillips, David R. (2005), Ageing and Place. Perspectives, policy, practice. New York, Routledge.

In the case of an article, the title will be quoted, the name of the journal in italics, and then volume (Vol), number (No.) of the magazine and first and last pages.

Example: SILVA, Eliud (2009), "Mortality from motor vehicle accidents in the metropolitan area of Mexico City at the end of the twentieth century", Journal of Population, Vol 15, no. 62, October to December, p. 143-172.

With the same criterion cited book chapters, being in italics the title of the book.

Example: Hilhorst, D. and Bankoff, G. (2004), "Introduction: mapping vulnerability", in Bankoff, G., Frerks, G. and Hilhorst, D. (eds.), Mapping Vulnerability: Disasters, Development and People. London, Earthscan, p. 1-9.

To the extent possible, electronic resources will be cited according to the following general model: Lead manager (author / author) (year) Title. Head (s) side (s). [Type of medium]. Edition. Place of publication: Publisher (Collection), update or revision. Physical description. Letters. <availability And access>. [Accessed].

The works shall be submitted to the Secretary of the Editorial Board of the Journal. Receipt of the originals within fifteen days. The Editorial Board, after receiving the mandatory anonymous reporting, decide upon publication within a period of six months from receipt in secretariat. The Editorial Board of Context rejects any work that does not comply with these standards.

NORMAS DE PUBLICACIÓN DE LA REVISTA

CONTEXTO. Revista de la Facultad de Arquitectura de la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León es una revista científica que se edita desde el año 2007 bajo el patrocinio de la Facultad de Arquitectura de la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León. El consejo editorial agradece el envío de artículos científicos inéditos y reseñas bibliográficas a la redacción.

Objetivos y política editorial de CONTEXTO es una publicación anual especializada en arquitectura y estudios urbanos y regionales, privilegiando las investigaciones de carácter interdisciplinario desde las Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades (Arquitectura, Urbanismo, Geografía, Sociología, Economía, Antropología, Psicología, Historia, Educación y otras a fines) en cualquier parte del mundo, aunque primando las temáticas centradas en América Latina y el Caribe. En la evaluación de los trabajos recibidos no se considerará la publicación de aquellos con carácter excesivamente restringido o local, sino aquellos cuya contribución sea de interés para la comunidad científica internacional.

Envío de originales. Los artículos serán originales, escritos en español, inglés o francés, referidos a una investigación propia en las áreas de arquitectura y estudios urbanos y regionales. Se remitirán a la Secretaría de Redacción de la revista CONTEXTO. Arbitraje de los artículos en CONTEXTO. La selección de los originales se rige por el sistema de evaluación externa y anónima, confidencial de especialistas en la materia (método de pares ciegos elegidos al azar). En caso de discrepancia en la evaluación por pares, el texto será enviado a un tercer árbitro, cuya decisión definirá su publicación. Los resultados del proceso de dictamen académico serán inapelables en todos los casos. Al momento de aceptar la publicación de sus artículos, los autores deberán formalizar la cesión de derechos de autor a CONTEXTO, según las condiciones establecidas por la Revista. Los autores tendrán derecho al envío de un ejemplar del volumen en que aparecieron sus trabajos.

Información general. En la primera página de toda colaboración deberán incluirse los datos generales del artículo y su(s) autor(es), incluyendo: título del artículo, descriptores, nombre completo, nacionalidad, E-mail, teléfonos, Centro o Departamento al que se encuentra adscrito laboralmente, dirección postal, ciudad y país.

Presentación y extensión de los artículos. Los artículos no deben contener ninguna evidencia de las identidades ni de las afiliaciones institucionales de los autores, salvo donde ello se solicita. Los textos deberán ser presentados en tamaño carta, espacio simple, en tipo fuente Times New Roman de 12 puntos, con una extensión de entre 4.000 y 10.000 palabras presentadas en un máximo de 30 páginas para el caso de artículos científicos (incluidos cuadros, figuras, notas y referencias bibliográficas); y de 1.500 palabras para las reseñas de libros. Aquellos artículos que no cumplan este requisito serán devueltos a sus autores. Los artículos deberán incluir un título, en el cual, con el menor número posible de palabras, se describa adecuadamente el contenido del artículo. El título del artículo debe estar traducido al inglés. También se debe incluir un resumen en la lengua original en que está escrito el artículo y otro en inglés, que no exceda las 200 palabras. Deberá ir acompañado de 3 descriptores o palabras clave separadas por (,), en el idioma original del artículo y en inglés. Esta norma no se aplica para la sección Reseñas.

La jerarquización de los contenidos (epígrafes y subepígrafes) será la mayúscula versalita para el primer nivel, cursiva para el segundo y redonda para el tercero.

No hacer sangrados al comienzo de párrafo, ni dejar espacio entre uno y otro.

Para destacar palabras o expresiones se utilizará la cursiva o el entrecomillado, nunca se recurrirá al subrayado o el resaltado en negrita.

Cuadros, Figuras y gráficos se ajustarán a la caja de la Revista; se numerarán correlativamente (numeración arábiga) y de forma independiente; llevarán un breve título (centrado, en mayúscula). Al pie se indicarán las fuentes. Las cabeceras de los cuadros se compondrán en letra cursiva, el resto en normal.

Notas y referencias bibliográficas. Las notas deben ser las imprescindibles y se situarán al final de cada página. No se incluirán notas a pie de página con referencias bibliográficas. Las referencias bibliográficas no deben extenderse innecesariamente (solo la citada en el texto), y deberán aparecer completas al final del artículo, ordenadas alfabéticamente y, para cada autor, en orden cronológico, de más antiguo a más reciente.

Para la cita de autores o autoras en el texto se indicará entre paréntesis el primer apellido y separado con una coma el año (Pérez, 2005); en caso de que la cita sea textual, el texto irá entre comillas; y entre paréntesis además del apellido y el año, la página donde se encuentra el texto citado (Pérez, 2005: 27). La referencia bibliográfica completa irá al final del texto, no a pie de página.

Las referencias bibliográficas. Sólo se indicarán las obras citadas en el texto. Se utilizará el orden alfabético de apellidos, siendo la primera letra en mayúsculas y las siguientes en minúsculas, seguido, preferiblemente, del nombre completo del autor/es o autora/autoras, y el año de publicación entre paréntesis. En caso de ser varias las citas de un mismo autor y para un mismo año, se diferenciaran los trabajos mediante letras minúsculas consecutivas a continuación del año:

En el caso de un libro, el título irá en letra cursiva, indicando a continuación la ciudad y la editorial.

Ejemplo: Andrews, Gavin J. y Phillips, David R. (2005), Ageing and Place. Perspectives, policy, practice. New York, Routledge.

En el caso de un artículo, el título irá entrecomillado, el nombre de la revista en letra cursiva; y, posteriormente, volumen (Vol.), número (núm.) de la revista y páginas inicial y final.

Ejemplo: SILVA, Eliud (2009), “Mortalidad por accidentes automovilísticos en la Zona Metropolitana de la Ciudad de México al final del siglo XX”, Papeles de Población, Vol. 15, núm. 62, octubre-diciembre, pp. 143-172.

Con el mismo criterio se citarán los capítulos de libros, estando en cursiva el título del libro.

En la medida de lo posible, los recursos electrónicos se citarán según el siguiente modelo general: Responsable principal (autor / autora) (año) Título. Responsable(s) secundario(s). [Tipo de soporte]. Edición. Lugar de publicación: Editor (Colección), fecha de actualización o revisión. Descripción física. Notas. <Disponibilidad y acceso>. [Fecha de consulta].

Los trabajos se remitirán a la Secretaría del Consejo de Redacción de la Revista. Se acusará recibo de los originales en el plazo de quince días. El Consejo de Redacción, tras recibir los preceptivos informes anónimos, resolverá sobre su publicación en un plazo máximo de seis meses contados desde la recepción en secretaría. El Consejo de Redacción de Contexto rechazará todo trabajo que no se atenga estas normas.
