Normas de
Colaboración
Ciencia y Sociedad es una revista trimestral e
indexada. Recibe contribuciones de
todos los investigadores nacionales e internacionales, solo que deben ser
inéditas, relevantes y respetar las disposiciones de la ética de la
investigación.
Ciencia
y Sociedad pública artículos originales, artículos de revisión
bibliográfica, notas conceptuales y técnicas, ensayos, reseñas de libros y
comunicaciones. Los textos deben ser originales y sometidos exclusivamente al
Consejo Editorial de esta revista (nunca enviarse a dos revistas de modo simultáneo).
Los autores(as) de los artículos,
ensayos, reseñas y comunicaciones ceden expresamente el cobro por concepto de
derechos patrimoniales y autorizan a esta publicación a difundir sus textos por
medios impresos y digitales. Esta revista se encuentra bajo licencia de Creative Commons 4.0.
Para tales efectos, el autor(a) deberá enviar una carta de autorización
de publicación (véase el anexo I), que contenga su
firma. Se recomienda escanear el documento físico que incluya su firma (de puño
y letra) y hacer el envío del archivo en formato pdf.
Los textos enviados serán
sometidos a un proceso editorial desarrollado en varias fases,
según se explica a continuación: 1) El editor general hará una valoración
preliminar de los originales recibidos vía electrónica para determinar si
procede someter el texto al proceso revisión por pares. (El artículo que
presente deficiencias en la etapa preliminar (título, resumen, referencias) no
pasa a la siguiente fase de evaluación, pero autor tiene la posibilidad de
mejorarlo y reenviarlo una vez modificado; 2) Los textos aceptados para
revisión (review)
serán sometidos al examen de varias personas que fungen como revisores
externos. Este proceso se hace a doble
ciego. Una vez revisados los artículos estos serán devueltos al autor/a con
una de las siguientes etiquetas: a) publicable sin modificaciones; b)
Publicable con modificaciones de los revisores; c) rechazado.
Nota: el autor(a) contará con 12
días hábiles para incorporar las modificaciones y evaluar sugerencias y recomendaciones
de los revisores.
Para iniciar el proceso de
remisión o sometimiento de un artículo es necesario que el autor o autora debe
registrarse en el sistema OJS (ver hipervínculo) y cargar una versión del texto
donde No aparezca su nombre ni el de
sus coautores. En la carta de autorización (anexo 1), incluirá sus datos
personales e institucionales, así como el de los coautores/as.
En el caso de las reseñas, comentarios o revisiones de libros y
artículos, así como las notas técnica-conceptuales el máximo de
palabras es 3,000. Las mismas serán evaluadas por el Consejo Editorial y su
título debe presentarse en español e inglés, no se someterán a revisión por
pares; y no requieren resumen ni palabras clave. Las temáticas de los libros o artículos
reseñados o revisados deben estar relacionadas con las líneas temáticas de la
revista.

editoriales
Los textos, tanto de artículos científicos,
ensayos, como de notas, reseñas, etc., deben estar en formato Word, y en un
archivo independiente se enviarán los datos del autor(a) con una breve reseña biográfica (ver formato debajo)
donde se indiquen: grado académico e institución donde fue obtenido,
adscripción o vinculación institucional, línea o líneas de investigación,
dirección postal, teléfono de contacto y correo electrónico, etc.

Breve reseña donde refiera su línea o líneas de investigación (no mayor a 300

Los artículos deben ser inéditos (originales) y resultados de alguna
investigación científica, estar escritos en español, con resumen ejecutivo y
palabras claves en ese idioma y en idioma inglés. El resumen puede tener entre
200 y 250 palabras como máximo y contener entre 3 y 5 palabras claves.
Los artículos científicos pueden tener una extensión
máxima de 8,000 palabras, con márgenes de 2.54 cm. Para el envío puede usarse
tipografía Times New
Roman en 12 puntos y espaciado de 1.5. Se recomienda
una revisión lingüística previa (ortografía, sintaxis, estilo, consistencia
interna) para evitar el rechazo por este motivo. Las notas y los ensayos
tendrán una extensión máxima de 6,000 palabras, por su naturaleza y estructura
más flexibles.
El artículo científico (full paper) preferentemente debe
mostrar en su estructura lingüística: una introducción,
que implica desglosar la descripción del problema o hipótesis, antecedentes
(breves), la tesis que se plantea como solución al problema (de modo
explícito), la metodología empleada; el marco
teórico, los resultados,
discusión de los resultados (en el caso de las investigaciones de campo) y las conclusiones. En el caso de artículos
con uso de métodos experimentales o investigaciones aplicadas, es deseable que
los mismos incluyan recomendaciones. Por igual se exige una lista de
referencias (con no menos de 15 ítems).
Las monografías, reseñas de libros, artículos,
notas técnicas y conceptuales, no exigen un formato especial, pero no deben tener una extensión mayor a
las 3,000 palabras. Serán dirigidas al Editor principal de la revista.
Los artículos con gráficos, cuadros, mapas e
imágenes deberán incluir la respectiva fuente o indicar que se trata de una
elaboración propia, asimismo, estos deberán enviarse en formato de imagen TIFF, PNG o JPG y tener una
resolución de 300 dpi (puntos por pulgada), y en formato excel.
Estas también deben estar insertas en el documento de Word que comprende
el artículo en el lugar donde el autor considera que deben ser colocadas. Todos los títulos o pies de las
imágenes, figuras, etc. deberán ir en minúscula y en negrita.
Para las imágenes que no sean de autoría propia es requisito indispensable adjuntar una
autorización firmada por el autor o el propietario de los derechos de la
imagen, excepto cuando se trate de imágenes de dominio público (las obras pasan
a condición de dominio público 70 años después de que la persona autor haya
muerto), en cuyo caso, debe indicarse la fuente de donde se obtuvo. El
número máximo de
tablas, gráficos, imágenes o fotos, para cada trabajo es de cuatro.
Las citas bibliográficas con menos de 40
palabras deben estar integradas dentro del texto y usar las comillas. Si
exceden ese número, deben estar en párrafo aparte y alineadas al espacio de la
sangría del texto normal y sin comillas. En ambos casos debe incluirse el
apellido del(a) autor(a), la fecha de edición y el número de página
correspondiente antecedido por “p.” entre paréntesis. Por ejemplo: (Zambrano,
1986, p. 95).
En caso de incluir citas provenientes de
fuentes secundarias, debe indicarse el nombre del(a) autor(a) y la fuente de
donde se toma la cita. Por ejemplo: (Paz, 1840 citado por Castañón, 2005, p.
194).
Las referencias de la revista se elaboran de
acuerdo con las normas de citación de la American Psychological
Association APA (6ta. Ed.) (APA, sexta
edición en inglés, tercera en español) para lo cual ofrecemos las siguientes

AUTHORS´ INSTRUCTIONS
Science and Society publish monographic
articles, bibliography review articles, essays, technical and conceptual notes,
book reviews and communications. The texts must be originals and submitted exclusively
to the Editorial Council of this journal (never send to two journals
simultaneously).
The
authors expressly transfer the collection for the proprietary rights´ concept
and authorize the journal to disseminate their texts through digital and
printed media. Science and Society is under license from Creative Commons
4.0. For these purposes, the author must send a publishing authorization
letter (see annex 1), which contains his/her signature. It is recommended, scanning
the physical document with the signature (handwritten) and send it in a pdf
format.
The sent texts
will undergo an editorial process developed in several phases, as
described below: 1) The Chief-editor will make a preliminary assessment of the
originals electronically received to determine whether to submit the text to
the review process by pairs. The authors,
once these corrections have been made, may resubmit the articles; 2) the
texts accepted for review shall be submitted to the examination of several
people who act as external reviewers. This process is done double blinded. Once
reviewed the articles will be returned to the author with the following tags:
a) publishable without changes; b) Publishable with the changes of reviewers;
c) rejected. Note: the author will have 12 working days to incorporate the
changes and evaluate the suggestions and recommendations of the reviewers.
To start
the remission or submission process of an article the author must register
him/herself on the OJS system and load the text version where his/her and co-authors’
name do not show up. Along with the authorization letter (annex I), including
personal and institutional data, as well as of the co-authors.
In the
case of reviews, comments or books and articles reviews, technical and
conceptual notes, the Editorial Council shall evaluate these, its title shall
be presented in English, and Spanish, will not be submitted to revision by
pairs; and do not require a summary nor keywords. The books themes or articles
reviewed must relate to the magazine´s topics. All shall be sent to the email: revistacienciaysociedad@intec.edu.do
The texts, both scientific articles,
essays and notes, reviews, etc., shall be in a word format, and on a separate
file, the author´s information shall be sent with a brief biographical note
where it indicates: academic degree and the institution where it was obtained,
adscription or institutional linkage, research line or lines, postal address,
telephone and email contact, etc. (see annex II).
The articles must be
unpublished (originals) and findings of some scientific research, written in
Spanish, with an executive summary and key words in that language as well as in
English. The summary must have between 200 and 250 words maximum and have 5 key
words. The scientific articles could have a maximum length of 8000 words, with
2.54 cm margins. They will be presented in Times New Roman font type at 12
points and 1.5 spacing. A prior linguistic revision is recommended (spelling,
syntax, style and internal consistency) to avoid being rejected for this
reason.
The essays will have a maximum length of 6000 words, due to their nature
and more flexible structure. The Monographs, book reviews, articles, technical
and conceptual notes, do not require a special format, but shall not have a
length of more than 3000 words. They should be addressed to the magazine´s
Editor in Chief.
The scientific article (full paper) should
preferably display in its linguistic structure: an introduction, which involves
breaking down the description of the problem or hypothesis, background (brief),
the thesis that arises as a solution to the problem (in an explicit way), the
used methodology, the theoretical framework, the results, discussion of the
findings (in the case of field research) and the conclusions. In the case of
articles with experimental methods use or applied research, it is desirable
they include recommendations. It is equally required a reference list (with no
less than 15 items).
The graphs, charts, maps,
and images, must include a source of origin or indicate that it is a
self-compilation, also, these must be sent in an image format TIFF, PNG or JPG
and have a 300 dpi (dots per inch) resolution, and in an excel format. Shapes
and graphs must also be embedded in the Word document of the article where the
author considers they should be placed. All the titles or footers for the
images, shapes, etc. must be in lower case and in bold.
For images which are not own authorship it is an indispensable
requirement to attach an authorization signed by the author or the owner image
rights, except in the case of public domain images (works become of public
domain 70 years after the person author has died), in which case, the source
where it was obtained, must be indicated . The maximum number of charts,
graphs, images or photos, for each work is four.
The bibliographical quotes
with less than 40 words must be integrated within the text and use quotation
marks. If they exceed this number, they must be in a separate paragraph and
aligned to the bleed space of the normal text and without quotation marks. In
both cases the author´s surname must be included, the edition´s date and the
corresponding page number preceded by ¨p¨ in parentheses. For example:
(Zambrano, 1986, p.95).
In the case of
including quotes coming from secondary sources, the name of the author and the
source where the quote was taken from must be indicated. For example: (Paz,
1840 quoted by Castañon, 2005, p. 194).
The references of the Science and Society journal are prepared
according to the citation rules of the American Psychological Association APA (6th. Ed. in
