Normas de Colaboración
1. Avances en
Química publica:
Artículos en extenso de carácter científico/técnico, producto de actividades de
investigación que se enfoquen en el desarrollo de metodologías y procesos
relacionados con cualquier área de la química.
Comunicaciones cortas de carácter científico/técnico, producto de actividades de
investigación que presenten un enfoque rápido de metodologías y procesos
nuevos, o la mejoría sustancial de éstos, en cualquier área de la química.
Artículos de revisión sobre un tema específico, relacionado con cualquier área de la química.
En este caso las revisiones deben estar presentadas a manera de “estado del
arte” en el tópico revisado.
Artículos divulgativos que motiven e incentiven el desarrollo de nuevas metodologías y/o
procesos relacionados con cualquier área de la química. Igualmente se busca con
este tipo de artículos fomentar los estudios de pregrado en el área de la
química.
2. Para someter a consideración del Comité
Editorial la publicación de un artículo en Avances en Química, los
autores deberán enviar una comunicación vía correo electrónico a la siguiente
dirección electrónica: clarez@ula.ve, la cual deberá contener en anexo (attachment)
el archivo con el manuscrito original en formato word.
3. El manuscrito deberá estar estructurado de la
siguiente manera:
Idioma: se aceptarán preferentemente trabajos en idioma castellano aunque
podrán aceptarse contribuciones en idioma inglés.
Título y autores: título completo en negrita, seguido en línea aparte del nombre
completo de los autores, comenzando con el responsable principal, y la
dirección de afiliación. Se deberá incluir al menos una dirección de correo
electrónico. Letra New Roman Times 12
Resumen: máximo de 100 palabras. Adicionalmente debe incluirse la traducción
del resumen en idioma inglés.
Cuerpo del trabajo: en letra New Roman Times 12, debe constar de
las siguientes partes: Introducción,
para plantear los antecedentes del tema abordado y el alcance e importancia del
trabajo. Parte experimental, para
describir los reactivos, solventes, equipos, técnicas empleadas, etc., en el
desarrollo del trabajo. Se deberán utilizar, en lo posible, unidades de medida
del Sistema Internacional de Unidades (SI). Discusión de resultados, se justifican los resultados obtenidos con
base en los modelos asumidos o en otros resultados conocidos. Conclusiones, se debe hacer énfasis en
el nuevo conocimiento creado por la investigación realizada. Referencias, se colocarán al final del
artículo y en el orden de aparición. Las llamadas se harán con números arábigos
consecutivos, en supraíndice y negrita, a lo largo
del texto. En caso de artículos en revistas periódicas se deberá incluir el
título completo del artículo. Para ayuda ver uno de nuestros últimos números
publicados.
Fotografías y figuras: deben venir insertas en el manuscrito en el sitio donde se desea que
aparezcan, descritas por su respectivo título en letra Times New Roman 10.
Tablas y cuadros: deben aparecer en el manuscrito en el sitio donde se desea que
aparezcan, descritas por su respectivo título en letra Times New Roman 10.
Palabras claves: después del resumen se
deben colocar un máximo de 5 palabras claves en orden alfabético, separadas por
punto y coma. Letra Times New Roman

4. Los
artículos sometidos a la consideración del Comité Editorial para su publicación
en Avances en Química serán evaluados siguiendo la metodología doble
ciego por al menos dos revisores de destacada trayectoria en el área. Los pasos
que usualmente se siguen en el proceso de evaluación son:
a) Los
revisores recibirán vía e-mail una copia digital del manuscrito, “anonimizada” por Avances
en Química de manera tal que no se puedan identificar los autores por sus
direcciones, agradecimientos o propiedades del documento electrónico,
garantizando la confidencialidad de los autores. De igual manera, Avances en Química se compromete a no
suministrar información a los autores sobre la identidad de los evaluadores.
b) Los
revisores emitirán sendos informes, en los cuales indicarán específicamente su
recomendación de:

Aceptar el manuscrito tal cual fue suministrado para evaluación
-
Aceptar el manuscrito con modificaciones menores
-
Aceptar el manuscrito después de recibir modificaciones de importancia
-
Rechazar el manuscrito con opción a volver a introducirlo para
evaluación
-
Rechazar el manuscrito
c) El Comité Editorial tomará la decisión sobre la publicación o no del
manuscrito de acuerdo con el informe de los revisores e informará a los autores
sobre tal decisión, anexando copia anónima de los informes de los evaluadores.
En caso de existir diferencias muy marcadas en la opinión de los dos árbitros
se consultará un tercer evaluador. Los autores podrán apelar a las decisiones
del Comité Editorial presentando sus alegatos a la evaluación realizada por los
evaluadores.
5. Los manuscritos corregidos después de la
evaluación y aceptados serán enviados al autor principal en formato pdf (prueba de galera) para su corrección y aprobación
antes de publicar la versión final (on line e impresa). Los autores deberán devolver
las correcciones en un plazo no mayor de 10 días, lo cual implica
automáticamente que aceptan la transferencia de los derechos de copia
(Copyright) a Avances en Química.
Instructions for contributors
1. Avances en Química publishes:
Full-length articles on original scientific/technical
research, these should be product of research activities focusing in the
development of methodologies and processes related to any area of the
chemistry.
Short communications of scientific/technical
preliminary results, products of non-conclusive research activities which
intend to present new and key information on remarkable approach of
methodologies and new processes, or the substantial improvement of these, that
will have an important impact in any area of the chemistry.
Review articles on a
specific topic related to any area of the chemistry. In this case
the reviews must be presented like "condition of the art" in the
reviewed topic.
News and divulgation articles on hot and current methodologies and/or processes related to any area
of the chemistry. The publication of this type of material tries to promote
undergraduate studies in all chemistry area.
2. In order to submit an article to be considered for publication at Avances en Química, authors should send an email
to clarez@ula.ve, containing the original Word DOC manuscript file attached. Tables and all graphics should be
embedded in the DOC file in the text where they belong (not collected at
the end).
3. The manuscript should be
arranged as describe below:
Language: Spanish is the
official language for Avances en Química,
but contributions are also accepted in English.
Type and sizes of sources:
Times New Roman 12 or equivalent
Title and authors:
title should be in bold type character followed by the complete name of the
authors (on separate line), beginning with the principal author, and the
affiliation addresses.
Abstract: up to 100 words.
Articles in English should include abstract in Spanish.
Content page, it
must consist of the following parts: Introduction
should include an overview of the approached topic, the scope and importance of
the work. Experimental Part, should be given in sufficient detail to enable others to
repeat your work. Describe the reagents, solvents, equipments,
technologies, etc., employed in the development of the research. International
System of Units for should be used. Results and Discussion, where results
obtained are justified based in the assumed models or in others proved results.
Conclusions, in which it is
necessary to do emphasis in the new knowledge created. References, should be at the
text numbers corresponding to the appropriate reference and should be typed in arabic number in superscript and bold character. References
must be listed in order of their appearance in the text and collected at the
end of the manuscript under the heading "References". Complete title
of the article should be included when periodical publications are cited. More help and details are
provided on our web site or at our last published issues.
Illustration, photos and figures must be incorporated in the text and must have
a brief title.
Tables and Pictures must be incorporated in the text and must have a brief
title. Tables should not be created as graphics files
or contain line brakes within single cells.
Legends: each figure and scheme should have a legend. These should be included
with the drawings in the graphics files.
Keywords: A maximum of five keywords should
be given in alphabetical order.
4. Articles submitted to be considered by the
Editorial Board for publication at Avances
en Química will be evaluated by at least two
experts in the research field, using the double bind method, according to:
a) Reviewers will receive
from Avances en Quimica a
digital copy of the anonymous manuscript (by e-mail), which should not allow
the identification of Authors by their addresses, acknowledgments or properties
of the electronic document, ensuring confidentiality on the Author´s
identities. Similarly, Avances en Quimica
agree to not provide information to Authors about the Reviewer´s identities.
b) Reviewers will send a report with their manuscript`s evaluation,
indicating specifically their recommendation in order to:
- Accept the manuscript as it was submitted for evaluation
- Accept the manuscript with minor
modifications
- Accept the manuscript after to receiving
significant modifications
- Reject the manuscript with option to
re-submit it for a new evaluation
- Reject the manuscript
c) The Editorial Board will
decide on the publication or not of the manuscript according to the reports of
the Reviewers and informs to Authors about such decision, annexing anonymous
copy of the reports of the Reviewers. In the case of a very marked difference
in the opinion of both Reviewers, a third Reviewer will be
consulted to evaluate the manuscript. The authors can appeal to the
decisions of the Editorial Board presenting their allegations to the evaluation
realized by the Reviewers.
5. Proofs (manuscript accepted and corrected
after evaluation) will be sent
to the correspondence author as compressed PDF files via e-mail. They should be returned within ten days, with the respective
approval or comments, which implies acceptation of the author´s
copyright transfer to Avances en Química.
